Hi,
The loading time of my site is good, but the admin backend one is awfully bad.So bad that I have two plugins needing to registrate that can’t because of this.
I’ve trizd to deactivate every single plugin: no change.
What should I do?
Thanks
June 11, 2016 at 6:32 am #646459Hey NMOI,
It it only the theme options backend which is slow? If not then I would try contacting your hosting provider to see if they can see what is taking time on their server logs.
Thanks,
RikardJune 11, 2016 at 11:00 am #646510Hi Rikard,
Yes, it’s only for the backend. The homepage first load takes 4,38s, which is quite good.
Of course, I’ve tried to disable all plugins, without any improvement.
Thanks
June 11, 2016 at 11:52 pm #646715Hi,
Since the issue is with the backed please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend. Also let us know what exactly is slow? For example: If you save a page is it slow? or is it slow all the time? or is it slow when you try to add something in the advanced layout builder? please give us as much details about the issue you are facing.
Login credentials include:
- The URL to the login screen.
- A valid username (with full administration capabilities).
- As well as a password for that username.
- permission to deactivate plugins if necessary.
Best regards,

June 12, 2016 at 11:43 am #646850Hi!
The time for the execution is low.
Please try the following to your wp-config file and if it does not work, please contact your hosting provide to increase your Memory Limitdefine(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’96M’);
thanks a lot for your understanding and patience
Cheers!
BasilisJune 12, 2016 at 12:52 pm #646894Hi Basilis,
I’ve just did and it didn’t improve things at all. It seems that my host memory limit is 128M. So I guess the problem comes from somewhere else.
I seriously suspects Enfold itself to be the reason. Would it be helpful if I switched to maintenance mode and temporally activate one of the WP basic themes to see the speed result ?
What do you suggest?
Thanks
June 12, 2016 at 12:57 pm #646897Yes, do that. Enable the default WP theme and check if the slowness persists.

JosueJune 12, 2016 at 1:08 pm #646900Hi Josue,
Nice try, but switching to Twenty Sixteen didn’t improve things neither !
So if it’s not coming from the plugins, the theme or the host, what’s left ?
Thanks
June 13, 2016 at 6:15 am #647183Hi,
None that I can think of to be honest, did you actually contact your hosting provider and explain the problem to them? If so, what did they say?
Thanks,
RikardJune 13, 2016 at 9:10 am #647231Hi Rikard,
I’ve just talked to my host. Maybe your IP address is blacklisted. Could you please tell me which one the plugin is trying to contact?
Could you also please confirm that your plugin is PHP 7 compliant? I’ve tried to check with 5.6, and it didn’t work neither, but I’d like to be sure on that too.
Thanks
June 13, 2016 at 9:18 am #647234Oops, I forgot. They the scripts URLs used to connect to the external server.
June 14, 2016 at 5:23 am #647773Hi,
I’m sorry but I have no idea what you mean by your last two posts, what plugin are you referring to? The theme should work fine with both PHP 5.6 and 7. Your last post: what scripts used to connect to what external server?
Thanks,
RikardJune 14, 2016 at 8:49 am #647849Hi Rikard,
Sorry, this eventually appears to be another problem. I have two plugins needing online validation from the author. They take ages and finally fail. I thought it was related to the slow backend, but it seems now that my host is blocking their URL.So please forget my two last posts.
So long for the PHP lead. What does it leave us with? What else could I try?
Thanks
June 15, 2016 at 6:06 am #648395Hi,
Well if your host is blocking those two plugins, they are probably what is causing the backend to be slow. Did you try deactivating them to see if it gets better?
Best regards,
RikardJune 15, 2016 at 7:32 pm #648818Hi Rikard,
I don’t think those two plugins try to communicate constastantly. Anyway,I’ve tried to disable all the plugins, and it didn’t change a thing. The admin login is still awfully slow. Switching from dashboard, plugin page or updates page is quite slow too.
Thanks
June 15, 2016 at 8:23 pm #648832Hi!
Based on all that, the only option is to go and change host provider, so there is no limit
Before you do, you can ask anyone of those big players to create a testing environment for you, so you can be sure it is perfect.Regards,
BasilisJune 16, 2016 at 11:08 pm #649444HI Basilis,
Your conclusion doesn’t sound logical to me, because there is no speed issue with the frontend. However, the backend is extreamly slow. Have you tried to connect both way and see by yourself?
Thanks
June 16, 2016 at 11:24 pm #649445Hi,
I’m afraid we won’t be able to help you on this as it’s not related to the theme (please see scope).

JosueSeptember 15, 2017 at 12:02 pm #852507Hello,
Unfortunately i am getting the same issue. I am using the Enfold Theme.
The website has been running very smoothly and extremely fast up until yesterday.I often open more than one table in the back-end (such as several products at a time in order to edit quickly).
previously i could open about 13 tabs each of a different product to edit in the back-end very quickly and effectively. Unfortunately however since yesterday just one tab lone is VERY sluggish and slow. At first i thought it was a server issue so i contacted my hosting provider and did ALL relevant checks – my server is running at tip-top shape. I pay over $100 a month for my server hosting on a VIP server and as i said before, it was EXTREMELY quick before.Last night a task which used to take me 10 minutes has taken me 1 hour – i can’t work like this. I am convinced it is a theme issue and i need it sorted ASAP.
I looked at previous threads and it seems like people have had this same issue in the past but there has been no resolution from Kriesi.
September 16, 2017 at 10:56 pm #852962Hi,
@AzharVahora
Please start a new thread, as this is from 2016. Also please don’t post the same question on multiple posts. Thank you for understanding.
I did a quick check for you and your site loads fine for the content, please see your report: https://www.webpagetest.org/result/170916_SQ_8cdd85de47b48548cad124f2fcebe857/
Best regards,
