Anyone else still having problems with Sliders after Enfold 1.9 update?
August 5, 2013 at 8:04 pm #133310Also, Preview Draft Post not working after 1.9
August 5, 2013 at 11:40 pm #133311Actually, the problem I’m having is that when I click on pages or posts, it takes me to a gray page.
August 6, 2013 at 7:10 am #133312Here is the site http://www.todays40plus.com. The drop down menu no longer works (only button working is Home). When you go to one of the Posts on the Home page and click read more, it basically goes to a blank page. Same happens when you click on Health for example (should result in all the Health posts).
August 6, 2013 at 7:21 am #133313Hi,
Easy slider and post sliders not working after 1.9 enfold update. Easy Slider is stuck on first slide. Post slider gets stuck after one forward/backward click. here is a link for you: http://thepsychreport.com/
thanks,
evan
August 6, 2013 at 8:02 am #133314Hi!
Please update the theme to version 1.9.1. It should fix the slider issue.
@wackyadvent – please deactivate all third party plugins and re-upload all theme files. Then we can be sure that 1) the error is not caused by a third party plugin and 2) that all theme files are installed properly and no file is damaged/corrupt…
Regards,
Peter
August 6, 2013 at 5:28 pm #133315HI, I have a problem with easy slider too. Running 3.6 and 1.9.1 enfold. The slider stops after the second picture, but there are 4 pictures. I´am using Chrome. Testing IE the slider works.
August 6, 2013 at 11:57 pm #133316Hi Peter,
I’ve done like you said and this message comes up on the pLug-Ins page … Disk Enchanced mode can’t work with “Default” permalinks structure. What does this mean?
Thanks.
Marshall
August 6, 2013 at 11:58 pm #133317Other than that, everything seems to be working fine.
August 7, 2013 at 5:15 am #133318Hi,
@ridcon: The slider should be fixed on 1.9.1. Please remove browser cache then reload the page. You might want to redo the slider from scratch.

Ismael
August 7, 2013 at 1:41 pm #133319Hi,
I updated to 1.9.1 but i am still having the problem with the easy slider (chrome, safari; mobile and desktop). Please see the page here http://www.thepsychreport.com. I use a child theme so I have been updating the enfold theme via ftp. My WP dashboard reads 1.9.1 on my Available Themes page. I am not sure if I am missing a step, or if it is still a problem with chrome (which according to google is up to date). I have also tried building new sliders (easy, full width, and post slider) but I get the same problem.
Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.
Evan
August 7, 2013 at 1:56 pm #133320Hi Evan,
Try to disable all active plugins that you have installed. Close out of your browser completely and then take a look again.
Regards,
Devin
August 7, 2013 at 2:10 pm #133321Deactivated Plugins. Restarted browser. Still the same. Same on mobile as well.
August 7, 2013 at 8:05 pm #133322Tried a few other things as well, but to no avail. The problem still exists. The issue is on my homepage so I had to modify for time being. please see issue here: http://thepsychreport.com/easy-slider-post-slider-test/
August 8, 2013 at 3:44 am #133323Hi,
Please try to disable the Nivo Slider plugin. Remove browser cache then reload the page.

Ismael
August 8, 2013 at 7:09 am #133324Hi,
Do you know what “Disk Enchanced mode can’t work with “Default” permalinks structure” means? That’s the message I get after the update. I gather it means I have to change the Permalink structure to Post Name instead of Default?
Thanks.
Marshall
August 8, 2013 at 8:31 am #133325Hi Ismael,
my problem is solved. Thank you very much.

August 8, 2013 at 1:57 pm #133326@Ishmael
WP Nivo slider plugin doesn’t affect Easy Slider and post slider. Only downloaded WP Slider after spending too much time with a broken slider, and looking for a back up option. Nevertheless I deactivated the plugin and cleared the cache and the problem persists.
August 10, 2013 at 4:17 pm #133327Hi Ishmael or Devin,
Still hoping for some guidance. Let me know what I can do/give you so we can solve this problem.
Thanks,
Evan
August 10, 2013 at 9:10 pm #133328Hi,
@wackyadvent
Do you know what “Disk Enchanced mode can’t work with “Default” permalinks structure” means?
Yes, it means you should be using Super Cache with Better WordPress Minify and not W3TC. Default permalink structure is when in Settings > Permalinks you have the very first radio button (default) set so there are no pretty permalinks just ?pageid=340 at the end of the url.
I see the slider on the page linked to from your name is turned off. Please dont use gif images especially for photographs. Gif is no longer being supported as Compuserve in the past demanded royalties for using it, and thats when PNG format was created specifically to replace GIF format. All photos should be in JPG format. Please convert your image and see if it starts working.
Thanks,
Nick
August 12, 2013 at 12:58 am #133329Yes the slider on my main page is turned off because it hasn’t worked since the update. Thanks for the info on the gif. But that’s the only gif i have used and i haven’t used it in a multi slide slider. check here to see example of problem for both easy slider and post slider http://thepsychreport.com/easy-slider-post-slider-test/
thanks,

August 12, 2013 at 8:13 pm #133330Hi Even,
Can you disable all active plugins and then try that page again? Additionally, you may want to try re-uploading the main Enfold theme in case there was a file corrupted or something like that. For instance, I’m unable to pull up the main style.css file for Enfold on your theme which could also indicate a permissions issue so checking your chmod permissions might be a good idea as well.
Regards,
Devin
August 12, 2013 at 8:39 pm #133331Hi,
Devin is correct. You are using an outdated version of the theme, with 4 updates released since your version.
Thanks,
Nick
August 13, 2013 at 12:01 am #133332My Easy Slider is broken after the second photo as well but only in Opera. It slides and navigates in Chrome, it does not slide in IE10 but it does change images and the navigation works.
Opera is doing something different than the other browsers. Not really a big deal.
Thanks, Chad
PS: The Fade option works in all browsers:) And I’m using WP 3.6 and Enfold 1.9.1 and have W3 Total Cache installed with Page Cache and Browser Cache turned on and Minify turned off (it doesn’t seem to help my site).
I only thing broken in my site is the Easy Slider with the Slide option and only in Opera. Not bad–I’m happy with what I’ve got.
Let’s hope for some browser/html/css standards soon so we can finally put this nonsense to bed once and for all.
August 13, 2013 at 12:21 am #133333Hi Chad,
Are you using version 1.9.1 of Enfold? Are you running any plugins or drop-ins?
Regards,
Devin
August 13, 2013 at 2:00 am #133334Disabled all plugins to verify functionality. Same problem with/without the plugins activated. In Opera the Easy Slider stops on the second slide in Slide mode and is non-responsive to controls. Other browsers work in Slide mode and all browsers work in Fade mode.
And yes I’m using Enfold 1.9.1 and WP 3.6.
Just posted to let everyone know that the slide is still not functioning 100%. But it’s good enough for me.
Thanks,
Chad
August 13, 2013 at 2:28 am #133335@Nick @ Devin
Thanks for the help. A few questions. How do I update my enfold theme when I am using a child theme. Initially I suspected what I am about to describe was wrong but couldn’t figure out any other way: I simply dragged and dropped the enfold update folder to replace the old enfold theme using ftp. Is this incorrect? I wasn’t sure. Butmy wp theme dashboard reads 1.9.1, and I thought the child theme was pulling from that file, so I assumed updated. I am guessing that Devin’s comment “I’m unable to pull up the main style.css file for Enfold on your theme which could also indicate a permissions issue so checking your chmod permissions might be a good idea as well” might also have to do with this, but I confess I don’t really know what you mean, or what to do.”
I appreciate the help. Talk to you soon,
Evan
August 13, 2013 at 12:58 pm #133336Hi Even,
That is exactly what I do in this video: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/67209750
However, you could also open the theme folder and drag and drop each folder within the theme and then make sure there are no upload error.s
I’m going to close this topic now however as its getting off topic and too many voices with too varied of issues. So see if replacing the style.css file in your parent theme folder works first as well as re-uploading via FTP.
If not, just make a new topic outlining exactly the issues you are having now.
For anyone else please do the same so that we can properly address each issue individually.
Regards,
Devin
