first of all thank you for that perfect WP-Theme!!! This was my best decision to use it.
I´m almost done with my website, but have issues with the parallax effect. If I use a color section with a background picture, but have massive issues with the picture size as the picture is being cut on the top and bottom side. The section should be full width and 650px high. (or close to)
I worked myself through multiple other posts but no solution so far. I tried multiple formats of the picture but none really worked as I always loose content in the picture
Then I tried the fullscreen slider, worked better from the picture perspective, but no parallax found.
this side http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-restaurant/ looks like the result, but I can not import the demo as my side is more or less done and I do not want to damage anything. I guess this is either a slider or a color section.
Would it be possible to let me know which layout option (section/Slider) you used and the size of the picture , the hights of the color section (if so), and which boxes (streched) are activated.
2.nd is there a way to have the title “Welcome to Enfold Restaurant” get a parallax effect in addition. (but this is not important)
Thank you for your help
December 22, 2015 at 9:43 pm #556753Hey UweHof!
can we please see your web site, so we can make sure we understand how to fix it and what you have done till now?
Cheers!
BasilisDecember 22, 2015 at 9:49 pm #556759sure, see private content
on each single side I put a color section (full * 650 px) with a background picture, parallax activated.
The pictures are cut on both top and bottom and I can not find a good picture size to have a better result

It seems to look fine to me. Can you take a screenshot and highlight what your trying to do with it?
Are you just trying to increase it’s height? You can set a custom pixel value for the color section in the “Section Layout > Section Minimum Height” option.

ElliottDecember 28, 2015 at 11:50 am #557659Hi Elliott,
thank you for having a look into it. I set the customer pixel value on 650px as this is how I would like to have it, so I do not want to extend this value.
If I now put a picture in the background the picture is being cut on the top and bottom side due to the stretching and parallax capability – which is fine as well as it depends on the screen size of the site visitor.
The issue is that I would like to have the 650 px size of the color section + parallax but the picture should not be cut that much (at the moment you will see me holding an envelope with a number on it. Depending on your screen you might not see the number nor will you see what is going on underneath the envelop due to the cut.
So the question is: which size of the picture should be used for that setting. I have not figured out how the parallax will fit into the different screen sizes.
Certainly a picture needs to be “stretched” in some cases or better it looks like that the theme “zooms” in. I would like to understand the logic behind such as “first zoom in until the full width of the screen (e.g. 2560) is reached and as a consequence the hight of the picture need to be cut.
Example:
Color Section 650 px
picture size 1920*1080
– if Screen size of site visitor = 2560 wide
–> “theme will zoom in until 2560 px reached and therefor from the picture …???????
– if Screen size of site visitor = 1366 wide
–> “theme will …???????
So what is the logic/working of the parallax?
Could I make a clearer? ;-))my other question above are:
1. what did you use in the example given above? Color Section or Slider?
2. is it possible to have text such as “Welcome to Enfold Restaurant” in the demo example with a parallax as well?Thank you for your support

It depends on the aspect ratio. If the users screen width is 1024 wide then for your picture to fit perfectly inside then it would need to be 1024 x 650px sized image. If your image was 2000 x 650 then it’s going to be cut on the edges a bit so it does not look distorted. Keep in mind though that for parallax you want to use an image that is a lot bigger so it can move down the page as the user scrolls.
1. That is 1732 x 1155, http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-restaurant/files/2014/07/pasta.jpg.
2. Yes, just drag whatever content you wish to display inside the color section.Regards,
