Today I installed the Enfold theme. I have been trying to upload a slider photo however the slider dimensions are extremely narrow (horizontally long but vertically very short) so I am struggling to put my normal header photo into it as I’m only getting a tiny slither of that photo showing.
Also, the menus, do I have to create a page to have that title/header for the menu. For example, I wish to create a header/title saying “resources & recipes” and then sub-menus coming out of that. But I do not wish to make “resources & recipes” an actual page in wordpress. It seems I was forced to – http://www.makingskincare.com/resources-recipes/ so had to write some text in there as it was a page even though I would prefer not to.
Thank you guys for your help with this.
December 30, 2014 at 12:38 am #372936Hi makingskincare!
I viewed your link and clicked around the pages of your site but didn’t see a slider anywhere. Send us a link to the exact page.
I’m not really sure what your trying to do with the “Resources & Recipes”. Take a screenshot and highlight what your trying to do so we can get a better idea.
Cheers!
ElliottDecember 30, 2014 at 1:03 am #372947Sorry I’m not great at explaining. Here’s a screenshot of my menu:-
you can see it says to put pages on the left so I did a new page headed “recipes and resources” as I was forced on the left hand side to create a page headed that to then be able to add it to the right hand column to make a menu out of it (sub-menu). I’d rather not have created a separate page as then I have to put text in that page. I’d rather the sub-menus come straight off it.
I haven’t yet created a slider as I couldn’t find an image to help.
Thanks so much.

December 30, 2014 at 1:39 am #372952Just to explain further, say I wanted to create submenus under the main menu entitled “recipes & resources”‘ how would I do that without having to create a new page headed “recipes & resources”?? You can see in the screenshot on the left hand column it has a list of existing pages and asks you to select them in order to add them over onto the right hand side to for a menu. That a implies the heading “recipes &resources” needs to be a preexisting page first in order for a submenu is created coming out of it. I didn’t want to create that page and was forced to.
Regarding the slider, I didn’t use one as I couldn’t find a photo to fit properly.
December 30, 2014 at 3:01 pm #373115Hey!
Please see – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/add-anchors-to-your-page-for-single-page-navigation/
You can go to Appearance > Menus and add a New link, you do not need to create a page.Regards,
YigitDecember 30, 2014 at 4:39 pm #373170Thanks Yigit, but how do I create a link which has purely the text “Recipes & Resources” in it? The sub-menus would come off of that text.
I have now inserted dummy sliders into my homepage http://www.makingskincare.com so that you can see more clearly my problem. The photos I have uploaded to the sliders are only showing a tiny bit of the photo, not the whole of it. So it’s as if someone just zoomed into a tiny part of my photo and uploaded that part and the rest is missing.
December 31, 2014 at 2:58 am #373399Hey!
You can create a custom link on Appearance > Menus panel then add the # sign as URL. Regarding the sliders, looks like you’re not using fancy animations on the slider. Please use the easy sliders on the ALB instead of the layer slider or add the images as layer instead of slide background to prevent the default background cropping. Set the width and height of the layer to 100%.
Cheers!
IsmaelDecember 31, 2014 at 3:43 pm #373574Thanks Ismael. I used the easy full width sliders in the ALB but still the photos are zoomed in and not showing the whole.
Regarding the menu, I think I haven’t explained clearly. I wish to create a main heading called “Tutorials” but I do not want anything to create a page or link called “Tutorials”. I actually want only the sub-menus coming out of the Tutorials main menu to show and no actual page called “tutorials”. So someone would click on the heading “Tutorials” and then see the sub-menus from that and choose which tutorial they wish.
How do I get the heading “tutorials” without doing a link or new page called Tutorials?? So the word Tutorial is purely a heading with no content and no link, only sub-menus coming out of it.
Really hard to describe but hope it might be a bit clearer.
I’ve been also trying to watch the advanced layout editor long version on vimeo but it is not working so I cannot see the video. The short version seems to be working but I think I need to watch the long version. Any ideas on that?
Thanks so much.

to make a menu not clickable follow this post: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/making-a-main-menu-item-not-clickable/
Which link for the vimeo video are you using?
This link is working fine for me: https://vimeo.com/64927359Best regards,
