I migrated my site from production server to new domain – I did have to manually update a few links, but now realize many of my image links link back to the production server – is there a simple way to update those links? Site is http://www.mooreequine.com.
    Thanks

You’ll need to update the database using a migration tool.

Try something like this: WP MIGRATE DB

    Hey!

Thanks for the assist! WordPress doesn’t have an auto image update script or anything like that so as mentioned you’ll need to use a tool like WP MIGRATE DB to move everything correctly.

I actually used this Search and Replace tool, http://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/ but think I didn’t do it quite right as I had to make some manual changes etc – had to make some updates…. wish I’d known about this tool in the first place – seems more user friendly…. will try it next time. Was afraid to use it after I’d made some manual changes so ended up just updating images manually – learning curve….
    Thanks for the help

Search and replace doesn’t work so well unless you’ve set up the local install with the same domain name so the serialized data is the same. But we all have to learn from the mistake somewhere – I know I did quite a few times before getting things right :)
