Hi Enfold-Team,
our new generated site with enfold is loading very slowly. We have activated shortpixel and supercache. The site is also without video loading very slowly. Any Idea what’s the problem?
Best regards

April 27, 2024 at 12:27 pm #1441041Hi,
can please anyone take a look at this site:
https://gross-bauunternehmen.de/wp-site2024/
why is it so slowly?
BR, VeraApril 28, 2024 at 3:57 pm #1441191Hi,
Thank you for your patience, your site doesn’t load for me, but I don’t see any errors in the browser. I do see one video trying to laod 6 times:
Try disabling all of your plugins and remove this video from your page and see if it then loads.
Do you have the Page Preloading option enabled?
Does the backend load ok?Best regards,
MikeApril 28, 2024 at 6:44 pm #1441209Hi Mike,
thank you for your answer and your time.
Backend is loading ok.
My only Plugins: super cache, short pixel, updraft plus. Should I really disable them? Then the page will load much longer.Page preloading is enabled.
The page is now loading but still very slowly. Couldt you please try to check it again? I removed the mainvideo.
Best regards,

April 28, 2024 at 8:04 pm #1441219Hi,
Now when I check your page is loading completely, when I check with webpagetest.org (linked below) you have a video in the footer that is loading twice and seems to take 22 seconds to load:
this video is 13.9 mb but is only a short background loop, you could try converting this to a gif, for example I created one using the first 2.5 seconds and the gif was only 5.3mb which would be a lot smaller.
I also see that you are not using the Enfold Theme Options ▸ Performance ▸ JS & CSS file merging and compression option which will reduce the number of files loaded.
It doesn’t look like your short pixel plugin is working well, I tested one of your images on tinyjpg.com and it reduced your image by 39%
Best regards,
MikeApril 29, 2024 at 11:55 am #1441291Hi Mike,
thank you very much for your advice.
I started a few tests and modifications: files merged, shortpixel optimized. Result: hm…
The Mainpage with now no videos is still loading very slowly. Other pages with videos are of course more slowly.Another site we created a few months ago with enfold (we always use enfold since years!) is loading much more better although there is also an autorun background video in the main section. But the testing showed, that this video is also loading 2 times? (https://ihrpartnerfuersdach.de/)
loading very good with video: https://ihrpartnerfuersdach.de/
loading not good without video on mainpage: https://gross-bauunternehmen.de/wp-site2024/If you want, I can give you a temp account to wordpress.

April 30, 2024 at 5:23 pm #1441472Hi,
I noticed a strange behavior: after deactivation the page preloading, the site is loading much more better!
The issue with the double loading video isn’t solved. Any idea why the backround-videos are loading for 2 times? Each video is only integrated once.

VeraApril 30, 2024 at 5:45 pm #1441474Hi,
Can you include a admin login in the Private Content area so we can examine the element with the video better?Best regards,
MikeApril 30, 2024 at 5:50 pm #1441476Thank you for your time and reply.
Please see private content the login. But I have an idea: the videos are loading with status 206 (partial content).
What do you think about the prelaoding issue?

May 2, 2024 at 11:43 pm #1442005Hi,
Thank you for your patience and the link to your page, to research the issue of the video loading twice I copied your page to my test site and each of your videos only loaded once, you have one at the top startseite.mp4 and one at the bottom hintergrundvideo_1.mp4
I then checked your page again and each video was loaded twice:
I tried disabling your plugins and testing again, but it still showed the videos loading twice, so I’m not sure if this is a cache issue. Does your web server use a “object” cache such as Memcached, Redis, Varnish? I’m not sure what would cause the videos to load twice but it doesn’t seem to be caused by the theme since I can’t reproduce it.
If you do have a server cache try disabling it and see if that helps, it may take a few hours.
As for the prelaoding issue, the prelaoder will not show the page until it is fulling loaded, and when it is off your page will show before it is fulling loaded, so this behavior is expected since you page is loading slowly. I also note that my clone of your site loads in under 9 seconds even though all of the images and videos are pull from your server, you site is taking over 22 seconds, this is strange.Best regards,
MikeMay 3, 2024 at 6:16 pm #1442211Hi,
thank you for your effort The results are very interesting.Your cloned site has much more speed, but there I miss the fonts (avant garde gothic) and the header with navigation.
I understand the preloader issue. Will keep it deactivated, so that the user can see logo and navigation while waiting for other content. We have shared hosting at a big provider and the hosting package is a premium one. I dont know if they have server caching. I suggest you have a better server package. But I also created a test-html on my own server (also shared hosting, but another provider). Please see the html in private content.
At the moment the site is loading quite ok with the caching-plugin. We want to show it to the customer, so I deleted your wp-account for the moment. If I have further questions, will come back to you.
Thank you again.Best regards

May 4, 2024 at 12:15 am #1442232Hi,
Ok, we we leave this open for now to hear back from you.
My demo site is also a shared hosting package, I had the header and footer from my demo disabled because it didn’t match your site but that should not have made a difference in the loading time.
Anyways, try to find out if your server has a cache, as I don’t see any reason for the theme to behave so differently on your server than my server, perhaps there is a “feature” that might cause this like a “object” cache.Best regards,
Mike -
