    Hi,

our site https://www.vestona.se has magically just dissapeared. I got an e-mail from WordPress this morning with the below information.

What has happened here? It’s been working fine for 2 years and we have not done any changes at all recently. We don’t run any plugins either, only Akismet. It’s a very simple page.

    We are using:

    WordPress-version 6.1
    Aktivt tema: Enfold (version 4.4.1)
    Nuvarande tillägg: (version )
    PHP-version 8.1.11

    Error details:

    An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR occured on row 313 in the following file: /www/webvol27/c4/3u5xxmyh4qcgefi/vestona.se/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/functions-enfold.php. Error reason: Unparenthesized a ? b : c ? d : e is not supported. Use either (a ? b : c) ? d : e or a ? b : (c ? d : e)

    Hi,

    Thanks for contacting us!

Please refer to this post – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/ and update Enfold to the latest version 5.2.1. You are currently using a very old version of the theme which is not compatible with your PHP and WP versions. Updating the theme would fix the issue :)

If you would like us to update the theme for you, please have a backup and post FTP logins here privately as well.

    Regards,
    Yigit

Thanks for the swift response, really appreciate it.

When entering the admin panel (wordpress), it however doesn’t say Enfold in the menu any more. This seems to be because the theme is not loading, and/or because the theme is in recovery mode.

Should I press the red button to the upper right, “Exit rescue mode”?

This is what it looks like: http://www.bilddump.se/bilder/20221114132003-84.55.121.202.png

Therefor, no updates for the theme is showing: http://www.bilddump.se/bilder/20221114131714-84.55.121.202.png

I assume uploading through FTP is the only way I can do it, then?

    Hi,

Yes, you would have to update via FTP in any case, since the new Envato token system is not compatible with the theme version you are running.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    All sorted out!

We have had a similar issue when trying to upgrade to WP 6.1, even after installing Enfold version 5.2.1. We received the following fatal error:

[11-Nov-2022 23:01:31 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/apexspecial/public_html/apexpohlstrategic/wp-includes/nav-menu-template.php on line 212

The problem is only with the last WP version 6.1, with version 6.0.3 the site works ok. And when switching to default WP themes the site works ok as well.

    Hi @jasonpohl,

I tried updating WordPress to 6.1.1 via FTP. Could you please check if that helped? If not, could you please post WP admin logins here privately as well?

    Best regards,
    Yigit

Hi Yigit, thanks for your quick response. It is now showing a critical error again with the update.
The Admin login is posted below.
    Thanks,

    Hi jasonpohl,

What happens if you activate the parent theme, or deactivate all plugins? If that should not change anything, then please share server error logs with us.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,
Still get the error with all plugins deactivated (currently) and only running the parent theme.

I’ve pasted error log entries from yesterday and today.
    Thanks,
    Jason

I just took a closer look at the error on nav-menu-template.php line 213. Tried disabling the main Enfold nav and it loads fine. But we kind of need the nav… : )

    Hi jasonpohl,

This is a server error message, but I’m not sure what is causing it unfortunately. Could you try reaching out to your hosting provider for clarification please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Rikard,
We were able to solve the issue by recreating the nav menu and assigning it to Enfold child. Not sure of the root of the issue but it’s working.
    Thanks for your assistance,
    Jason
