3 days ago I did the Enfold 4.0.7 update and now only the navigation shows at the top but no page content.
I did the update like I always do, through the child theme and this is the first time it didn’t work. I also disabled the only 2 plugins that were active because I’ve read that in a lot of posts but still nothing.
I also uploaded and overwrote the Enfold folder via FTP based on support advice.
I have PHP 5.6, does the new Enfold update need a newer version?
I’m sending the Admin and FTP login info through the private section.
Thank you,

June 2, 2017 at 4:07 pm #803081Hey Tony,
Sorry for the late reply!
Issue seems to be related to older version of PHP however I am now trying to re-update the theme via FTP at the moment. If that too does not help, i think it would be the best if we provided you an earlier version of the theme until you are able to upgrade your PHP version
Best regards,
YigitJune 2, 2017 at 4:54 pm #803100It seems like it’s all down now, including the Admin.
June 2, 2017 at 4:57 pm #803102Hi!

I’m standing by.
June 2, 2017 at 5:37 pm #803132Hi,
You are currently using PHP version 5.2.17. New version of LayerSlider requires at least PHP 5.6.x. Please contact your hosting and ask them to upgrade PHP version. Enfold is compatible up to 7.1.x.
Since you have mentioned that you will not be able to change PHP version in a month or so, I am now downgrading Enfold version to 4.0.3. After that your site should load just fine.
Best regards,
YigitJune 2, 2017 at 9:02 pm #803199Hi Yigit,
I’m just checking in; is it still being worked on?
Thanks,
Tony
June 2, 2017 at 9:03 pm #803200I just saw that it looks closer! Maybe the CSS isn’t loading?
Thank you
June 2, 2017 at 9:16 pm #803203Hi,
I tried downgrading Enfold version to 4.0.2 but it still did not load correctly.
I currently deactivated LayerSlider by adding following code to Functions.php file in Appearance > Editoradd_theme_support('deactivate_layerslider');
Again, we would recommend you to upgrade PHP version. In the meantime, you can remove LayerSlider from your pages and layout would be fixed.
Best regards,
YigitJune 2, 2017 at 9:50 pm #803208Hi Yigit,
I don’t understand. The site was working fine until I upgraded to 4.0.7 and there were no other changes besides that.
Shouldn’t it work when we go back to a previous version?
Could there be something else wrong? Thanks,
Tony
June 3, 2017 at 8:49 am #803315Hi,
Did you check the PHP version as Yigit said?
Best regards,
John TorvikJune 3, 2017 at 3:34 pm #803388Yes, he was correct; it is 5.2.17
But the part I didn’t understand was that it had been working fine until the upgrade and he took us back 2 versions but now the sliders won’t work anymore and it still loads wrong; almost like the CSS isn’t all being read. ( fireflyitrecovery.com/about-us/ )
Thanks,
Tony

June 4, 2017 at 8:44 am #803521Hi,
To investigate it, may you provide to us new credentials because the another aren`t working.
Best regards,
John TorvikJune 4, 2017 at 9:15 am #803529Hi John,
I’m not sure which credentials aren’t working. I just tried them again and they’re working for me.
Thanks,
TonyJune 4, 2017 at 5:14 pm #803640Hi Tony,
For that page to work you need to enable the Layer Slider by removing the code from here and Layer Slider shortcode is
[layerslider id="1"]
now not av_…
It is also strongly recommended to use php7.
If you need further assistance please let us know.
Best regards,
VictoriaJune 4, 2017 at 5:55 pm #803653Hi Victoria,
Thanks for your response.
If you look back at this thread, you’ll see that Yigit disabled the layer sliders because he said that they can’t run correctly. My question was if they took our version of Enfold back it should run like it was but now the sliders won’t work and if you look at the various pages, they aren’t loading properly.
Thank you,
Tony
June 5, 2017 at 12:00 pm #803834Hi Tony,
I tried downgrading Enfold version so LayerSlider would work however it still gave LayerSlider related PHP error. I saw that almost on every page you are using LayerSlider so deactivating it is not the best solution for you but it should be fixed as soon as you upgrade PHP version.
Best regards,
YigitJune 6, 2017 at 7:54 am #804370The part that I still don’t understand is how the pages aren’t loading correctly anymore ever since the upgrade/downgrade.
Nothing else has changed so I don’t think upgrading PHP version would fix this. (see page below or any other one)fireflyitrecovery.com/our-process/
Thanks,
Tony
June 6, 2017 at 5:33 pm #804598Hi Tony,
Pages are not displayed correctly because of LayerSlider shortcodes. We deactivated LayerSlider but LayerSlider elements are still on the pages. If you edit your pages and remove LayerSlider elements, pages should display correctly.
When you upgrade PHP version LayerSlider can be activated again.
For now, i think it would be the best to use Fullwidth Easy Slider or Fullscreen slider instead of LayerSlider.
We are really sorry for the inconvenience!
Best regards,
YigitJune 6, 2017 at 10:20 pm #804722I will remove the LayerSlider elements. Thank you for your help Yigit!
