Hi,
I created a new page for the posts, and set this page as default page for posts (in Enfold settings)
2 questions:
1/ What’s the advantage of selecting the page? I mean, I don’t see any difference in the default page and the new page I selected. Even the slider I added doesn’t show
2/ In my page, I selected no sidebar in the ‘layout’ options, but still I see a sidebar with nav content at the right side. How can I disable it and why does it appear ? Is it a bug or (porbably) something I mis-unerstood?
Thanks,
Thomas
May 28, 2013 at 2:16 am #121519Hi,
Please do the following to create a blog page with slideshow.
1.) Edit the page, go to Advance Layout Editor. Under Media Element > Insert a Slideshow. You have three options EasySlider, Fullwidth ES and LayerSlider.
2.) Go Content Element tab, insert the Blog Post element. Configure the options.
3.) To remove the sidebar on that particular page, look for Layout > Layout, select No Sidebar.
If you want to understand how the theme works, please Import the dummy data and watch these videos.

Thanks for your explanation, but this is still unclear to me…
It seems that, once we setup a page as a blog page (in Enfold – Theme Options – And where do you want to display the blog), the Advanced Layout is just ignored, and we’ll get a page with some default settings, right ? Even choosing No Sidebar in the layout options is ignored, and a sidebar still appears…
So your suggestion is to create a blog page, which I did. This is OK, but this is still not the page that will be called when clicking on a blog post on the homepage for example…
So, as far as I understand, we can create a blog page, with Advanced layout editor, but this page has to appear somewhere in the menu as it won’t be automatically called when clicking on a post
AND/OR we create a blank page, called it Blog for example, set it as the blog page in enfold settings. This page will be automatically called when clicking on a post, but Advanced layout will be ignored.
Can we mix both worlds?
At the very least, I’d like to remove the sidebar, but even this setting is ignored in the ‘basic’ blog page.
Thanks,
Thomas
May 29, 2013 at 1:27 pm #121521Hi Thomas,
I think the hang up is that the “Blog” is different from single blots “Posts”.
So you can use the Advanced Layout Editor to make a specific set of posts or post categories output in a layout and you can also use the theme options to set the default overall blog where all posts get spit out.
Outside of that, wordpress has single blog pages that are independent of everything else. To set a layout on a single post, go to that post and on the right hand side of the screen go to the Layout meta box and for the Layout dropdown choose “No Sidebar”.

Devin
