I’m not a codeman and this means I’m not sure what I need to know from that article :)
Does that article wants me to paste that code to child theme’s functions.php? Can you describe it more so that I can apply it easily?

Yes, that’s correct. Just copy the whole code on the child theme’s function.php. :)
