Hello! Is there a way that I can get the sidebar default menu to match the main menu? I ask as I have changed the titles in the main menu appearance, but the sidebar still shows the extended page titles. I would like to replicate the shortened ones from the main menu in the sidebar menu as well. Thanks for your help!

Could you please attach a mockup of what you’re trying to achieve?
I’m not sure I understand what you need to do here.
Best regards,
VictoriaJuly 17, 2020 at 3:57 pm #1231305Hi Victoria-
What’s the best way to attach an image for you?
Ultimately, I want the sidebar menu to match the main menu (and the shortened titles that I’ve updated).
Right now the sidebar pulls the longer page title by default instead of my updates on the main menu (shortened).
Thanks!

You can upload screenshots to a service like Dropbox or http://imgur.com and give us the links here.

Just to reiterate, I would like the Sidebar Menu to match the Main Menu (not default to Page Title). Thanks!
August 2, 2020 at 11:53 pm #1234685Hi,
Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the link and screenshot. I see that your main menu titles are shorter than the sidebar menu.
Have you tried disabling your Autoptimize plugin and clearing any server cache? I believe your sidebar menu is auto created so it should update.
Please include an admin login in the Private Content area so we can investigate.Best regards,
MikeAugust 3, 2020 at 7:59 pm #1234934Hi Mike – Thank you – I’ve disconnected the Autoptimize, and it looks like the menu is still defaulting to our Page Titles instead of shortened Menu Titles.
Login details below.
August 6, 2020 at 1:00 pm #1235691Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, thanks for the login but it doesn’t seem to be an admin login so we can not see your site backend.
I have tested this situation on a new install and in order to correct the sidebar menu you will need to adjust the page titles instead of the menu titles, the menus do not share information so adjusting the menu title in one will not reflect in the other.
Another option is to create a new sidebar menu, in your menus, and disable the Sidebar Setting > Page Sidebar navigation, then in your widgets add the “navigation menu” and choose the menu you created to use.Best regards,

I was able to custom create a Widget area for each drop down menu and update each page accordingly. I was hoping for a less labor intensive fix, but not the case! Thank you again for your help!
