I am trying to make a sidebar menu.
I have created a new test menu (just 2 items).
I have created/added a new widget area, included the test menu.
On a test page I in Layout have tried all settings, and in Sidebar Setting I have chosen my custom sidebar.
Published the page DOES show my custom sidebar, BUT it also shows Search field, RECENT POSTS, RECENT COMMENTS, ARCHIVES etc. How do I turn theese off, so only my own custom sidebar menu shows?

    best regards

    Hey nonne!

You’ll need to remove the widgets from the rest of the sidebar areas so that there is no stacking of widgets. Pages get inherited widgets from the page sidebar so you’ll get that kind of effect.

You can also use a plugin like this one to make specific widgets only show in some areas: http://wordpress.org/plugins/display-widgets/

    Hey Devin

Thanks a lot. It is easy, when you know how :)
