In my widget area there are areas defined: Sidebar Blog, Sidebar Pages and Footer
Sidebar Blog containing: Category and Archive
shown on a single blog page
Example: http://fiala.cc/2019/03/wahlheimat-oesterreich/
OKSidebar Pages containing: Enfold Table of Contents
Example: http://fiala.cc/franz/erinnerungen/grosseltern-generation/grosseltern-kvacek/kvacek-frantisekfranz/
OKFooter containing: text widget
OKThis is what I want to be.
My problem is the content of the sidebar in the blog page showing the follwing:
Pages, Categories, Archive
Example: http://fiala.cc/And I cannot find the setting where this could be changed. I seems to be like a default setting. I would agree with this layout but the pages are unfortunately not displayed in alphabetical order, so it is difficult to find a given page.
The categories are missing the number of posts. My question is: How can the sidebar on the blog page be configured?
Example: http://fiala.ccApril 25, 2019 at 6:29 am #1094296Hey ffiala,
Thank you for using Enfold.
The default widgets will display if the “Displayed Everywhere” widget area is empty. You need to add at least one widget in that area. Or disable the sidebar completely.

IsmaelApril 25, 2019 at 7:14 am #1094308Thank You! Works!
But this is only a partial solution for me.
Now my blog page sidebar ist empty because I added an empty text widget.
If text ist filled in this text widget it is also seen on a single blog post or on a page.
How can a widget be added on the blog page only?April 26, 2019 at 4:13 am #1094597Hi,
Thanks for the update.
Are you planning to add anything on that sidebar? If not, you should disable it or make the page full width. If you want to add any widgets specific to the blog page, place them inside the “Sidebar Blog” widget area. You can also use the following plugin to conditionally load the widgets.
// https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-logic/
You need familiarity of conditional functions.

IsmaelApril 28, 2019 at 5:47 pm #1095058I dont have problems with specific posts or pages. I understand how to add widgets to pages and posts.
My problem are the widgets in the blog page which shows the last 10 posts.
My widget area “Sidebar Blog” contains two widgets: Categories and Archive.
And the widgets are shown correctly on each single blog post.
Example of a single Blog page containing the widgets Categories and Archive: http://fiala.cc/2019/02/d-hausherrnsoehnln/But the blog page itself contains the last ten posts. and is shown as the startpage. Its sidebar is empty at the moment.
It is empty because the “Displayed Everywhere Area” contains an empty Text-Widget.
http://fiala.cc/
If this test widget is removed the start page shows an not cofigurable combination of the widget Pages, Archive and Categories. And this ist what I want to change. The possibility to enter a widget in the “Displayed Everywhere” Area is not my solution because I only want to be shown on the startpage and nowhere else.On the Admin-Bar of the start page the text “Frontseite bearbeiten” can be read (on single post pages the text is “Edit Beitrag”). But if I click on it, the the first blog page is edited and not the settings of the blog page.
There is another point, which does not work as expected on the startpage: In the Worpress “Settings” -> “Read” is set: “show 10 blog entries” and “dont show full text”. This setting is not respected by the enfold theme and the full text of the posts is shown.
May 1, 2019 at 6:26 am #1096024Hi,
Thanks for the update.
Did you set the blog page in the Enfold > Theme Options? You should set the blog page there and reset the Settings > Reading options back to default. The default widgets will display if the respective widget areas are empty. It doesn’t really make sense to have a sidebar if you’re not going to place any widgets or content in it, so the theme auto populates that container when it’s empty.
Best regards,
IsmaelMay 1, 2019 at 8:19 am #1096072Hello Ismael,
Thank You for assistance, I do not need more help.
I was used to set the startpage and the blogpage in the settings of wordpress (“dashboard” -> “settngs” -> “read”) like in all the simple themes like “twenty fourteen…”. Now i learned to do it in the enfold settings.
For my simple page I never used the advanced layout editor before. But using it makes it possible to configure the blog page in more detail.
So after theses days of questions I learned to configure my blog page.
Thank you for Your patience, Franz
