Hi
if I upload an image, Enfold produces automatically 18(!) different sizes (png).
But when I make a test on different devices (iPhone 4 / 6, iPad, etc.), there is always the same image with the same size (the original I have uploaded)?
What ist wrong in my thoughts?
I had the idea, that Enfold delivers the size that is needed for the device I use.
What do I have to change to have an optimized speed for images. See the Website under

Thanks for your reply
Hey webmanu!
The different sizes are for thumbnails used throughout the site. For example if you upload an image to a portfolio and then use the portfolio with the blog posts, portfolio grid, masonry element, etc etc, you can select what size of thumbnail you wish to use.
Having thumbnail versions of your main image is actually beneficial for your site speed as the user will download a smaller version instead of the fullsize image. The downside is that it may fill up your server storage faster.
Cheers!

Hi Elliot
Enfold is a retina ready theme, right???
If I wanna have optimized images for normal and retina screens – and of course the users shouldn’t download the image size for the 5K-desktop screens if they use a iPhone 4 or 5 or 6 or pads – what I have to do?
Thanks in advanced!
Hi!
Well, how sites usually do this is by having the theme display with a width of around 1300px as a type of “boxed layout” and the content will be centered on very wide screens. You can set Enfold to use a boxed layout in Dashboard > Enfold > General Layout.
