    I want to accomplish the following:
    – 1 page with blog items
    – 1 page with news items

    So I made messages with the category ‘blog’ and messages with the category ‘news’, so i can show them on seperate pages. The only problem is that the sidebar shows both categories.

    Is it possible to only show 1 category under ‘most recent messages’?
    The same problem is for the ‘archive’ in the sidebar. It should be an archive for just 1 category.

    Hi intrige!

    1) Yes, you can use the “Enfold Latest News” widget – it allows you to select the categories which will be displayed in the sidebar.

    2) No, afaik the “archive” widget does not support a category selection. However maybe you can find a third party widget here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/
