Hi,
so far, I am super happy with my purchase of Enfold Theme, it is even better than my wildest imaginations.
My question:In the entry slider I would like to show the category of each post with an overlay on the preview picture. Lets say, each post of category ‘unicorn’ shows a little banderolle spelling ‘unicorn’, and so forth. Can I realise this within enfold theme?
Thank you!

Thank you!
September 20, 2017 at 4:44 am #854123Hi,
Thank you for using Enfold.
That is possible but you have to modify one of the parent theme files. The blog grid layout is created using the config-templatebuilder > avia-shortcodes > postslider.php file.
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 20, 2017 at 9:50 pm #854568Ok, I altered the postslider.php
I would like to add it to the child theme, but don’t really now how.
Can you help?
I created /config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/postslider.php in my child folder, but it wont do anythingSeptember 21, 2017 at 12:53 pm #854802Hi,
I’m sorry but you can’t override the shortcode in a child theme. There is a workaround but we don’t recommend it.
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 21, 2017 at 1:23 pm #854832Thank you. Is there a reason why you dont recommend it?
September 22, 2017 at 8:09 am #855228Hi,
We don’t recommend it because the changes or improvements on the parent shortcodes will not be reflected on update. The child theme shortcodes will override it so you have to update it again. The good news is we don’t update the shortcodes often so it’s fine.
Best regards,
