    Hi There,

It seems, that after the latest Enfold update the shortcodes are not working anymore within the text widget.
    can that be confirmed/fixed?

    Thanks,
    T.

    Hey elbnetz,

Where can we see the problem you are having?

Pls. have a look at attached link. After first “Aktuelles” there should be the original list of articles coming from shortcodes

    Hi elbnetz,

I have tested ALB shortcodes in a textwidget in Enfold 4.5.4 and it works fine without any issues.
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

can you try this in child-theme functions.php :

    add_filter( 'widget_text', 'do_shortcode' );

    Hi Nikko,
    I created an account manually:

    Manny Thanks!

This is the standard plugin to show at least something. Above between both “Aktuelles” is the content missing.

    #1076338

    BTW, this the code:

    [av_blog blog_type='posts' categories='5,10,9,6,7,11,1,3,4,8,2' link='category' blog_style='single-big' columns='3' contents='excerpt' content_length='excerpt_read_more' preview_mode='auto' image_size='portfolio' items='5' offset='0' paginate='no' conditional='' av_uid='' custom_class='']

    #1076608

where did you get that columns options ? – it is only present if you choose the “blog-grid” style – not in the single-big.
so maybe this is the reason for having troubles on that.

Edit : i can reproduce the existance of columns ( it remains in the shortcode if you have set before a grid style) – changing back to single big does not remove it ( but on that case there will be no influence of that option.

i tested a similar code ( even with unneeded columns options ) but it still works on my Enfold widget.

Unfortunately no shortcode of any kind is showing up. We deinstalled all plugins, child theme everything. No change. On a fresh WP installation it works.

    Any thoughts?
    Many Thanks!

BTW: We deactivated the text widget affected. What you see now is the standard WO blog widget. But it is missing categories, like here to be seen here: https://petersburger-dialog.de

    Hi elbnetz,

I’m not really sure why that happens, I think it’s similar to the answer given here: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/156222/shortcode-in-text-widget-not-working/156229
I compared the posts in sidebar in your homepage and single post pages and it’s the same except the homepage displays 6 posts while on single post pages it’s 5.

No I am referring to shortcodes from plugins that need to be implemented like [freeusregionshtml5map id=”0″].

I noticed that both the theme shortcodes and the plugin shortcodes will not render. Please advise.
