Hi, My client wants me to use a different theme for mobile devices, so I have installed Touch to use for phones. In trying to configure it, the shortcodes for Enfold are showing up as visible code on the page (see screenshot.)
The support person at Touch said the following:
“Aha, then your shortcodes are NOT in a plugin. Otherwise they’d show what they’re supposed to do.
I don’t think it’s mandatory on ThemeForest yet, but the current trend is to move shortcodes out of themes and into plugins so people wouldn’t have to rebuild their content when switching themes for example, which is what you’ll have to do should you switch desktop themes at some point. Not what you wanted to hear I’m sure, but this is why our own shortcodes come in a plugin :(Because your shortcodes are integrated into the theme, you’ll indeed have to rebuild the content for your mobile site, and sadly no mobile theme will be able to get you around this. ”
Is there a work around for this? I do not want to code special pages for mobile… Thanks! – Janet

You can use a plugin such as this one – https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-mobile-url-redirect/ to direct your mobile visitors to another url
Cheers!

March 4, 2015 at 7:56 pm #406015Hi!
As far as i know Kriesi keep it as a standalone plugin as well. Would you need it? If so, please let know so we can ask him to send you a copy.
Best regards,

Kriesi said that standout plugin version of ALB is not compatible with current version of framework and needs to be updated and that he is planning to update it. He is currently very busy working on theme updates.

YigitAugust 28, 2015 at 5:34 pm #495025Hi, is there any news on making the shortcodes into a standalone plugin? We are having a problem where when we send out emails the call to action needs to be one or the other link. Thanks!
August 31, 2015 at 7:33 am #495608Hi!
I’m sorry but this feature is not a priority for now. You can may need to hire a freelance developer if you insist on modifying the theme’s shortcode. Why do you need to use another theme for mobile anyway? The theme is fully responsive already.
Cheers!
