Hi Team,
Right now my shopping cart creates some really wired lines and dots when it hovered over. And somehow it is only happening on the homepage. Right now when you hover over the cart symbol it should show a small synopsis of what is in your cart. This works fine on almost every page. However, on the home page hovering over the shopping cart just creates a bunch of weird lines and dots with no summary to be found. Any idea why this might be happening or how to fix it?

JeffSeptember 15, 2020 at 4:06 pm #1246077Hey RMConnection,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,

In the private content is a username and password for your convenience. Please let me know what else I can provide to help. Or if you have any questions.

JeffSeptember 16, 2020 at 10:53 am #1246249Hi RMConnection,
Thanks for giving us admin access.
I have checked it and it seems hard to try to figure out the issue since there are many plugins.
Can you try to flush out the cache and deactivate all plugins then check? if it fixes the issue, just enable them one by one to know which one is causing.
If not then please try to create a staging site, where we can try to deactivate everything and isolate the issue.
Here’s how you can create a staging site: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-staging-site/Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 16, 2020 at 7:41 pm #1246397Hi @Nikko,
I purged and tried what you said but it didn’t solve anything, unfortunately. I have set up a staging site on my website. This was a long time coming anyway so thank you.
It should be said that right now the shopping cart is actually run by a plugin called Woocommerce multi-step checkout. The shopping cart does not appear unless WooCommerce and this plugin are activated.
Thank you for your help!

JeffSeptember 17, 2020 at 2:44 pm #1246542Hi Jeff,
The shopping cart does require Woocommerce, but I believe that’s the only requirement.
Can you give us access and link to the login of the staging site? so we can try to investigate further there.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 21, 2020 at 7:57 pm #1247448Hey @nikko,
Thank you for your help so far! The link to the staging site and the login are below.
Please let me know if something does not work for you or if you need anything else from me to look at this.

JeffSeptember 22, 2020 at 12:17 am #1247496Hi @nikko,
I apologize we had to redo our staging as we updated quite a bit to the site. The login is still the same but the url is slightly different.

I apologize for the confusion the original URL is the one to use. I am still learning this staging plugin.

JeffSeptember 23, 2020 at 12:28 pm #1247827Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Looks like the thin line only occurs when the cart is empty. This line is actually the widget_shopping_cart_content container which should display the “No products in the cart” text when the cart is empty, but for some reason it doesn’t. This is probably caused by third party extensions, so disabling the plugins temporarily should help fix the issue.

IsmaelSeptember 23, 2020 at 7:04 pm #1247955Hi @ismael,
Thank you for your response. If this is the case I’m not sure it is worth fixing almost all of my plugins are more crucial than this being fixed. I have noticed that it also occurs when items are in the cart but again its a very minor thing.

JeffSeptember 24, 2020 at 2:34 pm #1248160Hi Jeff,
I have tried to check again your site and it’s really a weird issue.
I’m trying to do some modification on the homepage so we can atleast find the cause of the issue however the backend responds with Error 403 Forbidden.
Can you try to whitelist the IP in private content?Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 29, 2020 at 12:53 am #1249192Hi @nikko,
Thank you for the reply and sorry for the late reply. I believe I have whitelisted the IP. In order to have it stick I had to update the staging site. I’m sorry if you had any work there. Please let me know if you are still running into the problem and I will attempt to dig deeper.

JeffOctober 1, 2020 at 4:28 am #1249785Hi Jeff,
Please remove that IP address from the whitelisted address and replace with the one in private content.
My IP Address is dynamic so it does change from time to time :(
Please save your homepage as a template, then try to remove sections from it, and maybe you can find which one is causing it since it only happens on the homepage.
If you can find it then you won’t need to whitelist the IP I provided.Best regards,
NikkoOctober 5, 2020 at 11:12 pm #1250660Hey @Nikko,
I tried removing and rearranging some stuff but didn’t find that anything fixed it on my end. I have whitelisted the IP address let me know when I need to change it again. Sorry for the late reply.

JeffOctober 9, 2020 at 2:50 am #1251596Hi Jeff,
I apologize for the delayed response.
I have been trying to check on your site however every time I make changes on the staging site it goes:This site can’t be reached
but goes live again the next day, can you try to check the error_logs and give us the errors that appear there?
The modifications I made are just basically creating a new page and making a template and no code at all.Best regards,
NikkoOctober 12, 2020 at 7:19 pm #1252326Hi @Nikko
I did not have error reporting turned on. Please attempt to make changes and if it happens let me know and I will send you the new logs, Now that error logs are being recorded.

JeffOctober 16, 2020 at 1:32 pm #1253248Hi Jeff,
I apologize again for the delayed response.
I have been checking on it and the only conclusion I can get is that the issue is on the child theme.
If the child theme is enabled and all plugins except woocommerce are disabled the cart won’t work properly, I have created a clone for the homepage and it does work properly, I tried removing all the content on the homepage but the cart issue is still showing up.
However, if the child theme is disabled though the header layout will look different and all the plugins are active, the cart is working properly.Best regards,
NikkoOctober 19, 2020 at 9:36 pm #1254148Hi @Nikko,
Ok good to know. I’m not sure it is worth it to delete all of our child customizations to fix this one small issue. For now, let’s close this out and I will revisit it at a later date.

JeffOctober 20, 2020 at 2:43 am #1254199Hi Jeff,
Sure, just open a new thread if this needs to be revisited (you can reference this thread when you open a new one, so the conversation can be continued).
Thanks for using Enfold and have a great day :)Best regards,
