    Hi there,

    Have installed the theme update a few days ago and am now facing the problem, that the shopping cart remains empty when adding an item to the cart from my cellphone. Desktop version is working properly.

    Already checked:
    Deactivated all plugins one by one. Error remains.
    Changed theme to “Twenty Nineteen”. Problem solved.
    Therefore I’d assume that it is some issue on the Enfold Theme. Either a bug in the update or some settings I need to change after the update.

    Any ideas? Would highly appreciate to get your advice!

    I am using Firefox 70.0.1 and an Iphone SE (and browser Safari) with latest software version. What my customer is using is not yet confirmed.

    Hy partner is using an Android phone with Firefox as browser. On his cell phone it also does work. Seems to be an IPhone problem?

    I am able to add a product on my iphone SE to the cart and when I go to the cart the product is there.

    Hi Victoria,
    Just tried again. On my cell phone it still does not work. And as I said – when switching to a standard template the problem disappears. How can we solve this?

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delay. We are able to reproduce the issue on Internet Explorer and it seems to be related to the privacy cookies, but we are not entirely sure. The cart only works properly when the privacy cookies are accepted first. Please try to set the Enfold > Privacy & Cookies > Default Cookies Behavior to the first option so that the required cookies are silently stored on load. Let us know if it changes anything.

    Hi Ismael,
    Just tried (and kept these settings for the moment) and yes – the cart is not empty anymore. Neither when testing with Internet Explorer nor on my IPhone SE with Safari.
    I before had set the third option (“User must accept and must opt in, only essential cookies selected”). May you please confirm if I understood the meaning of this option wrong or if there really is a bug? I thought that by setting this one only essential cookies are preselected in the consent message bar – and that these cookies are also set by the website. All not essential cookies are turned off unless the visitor explicitly turns them on through the consent message bar.

    Thank you for the update.

    The privacy option should not be affecting the shop processes, so this is an unintended behavior and can be considered as a bug. Do you really need to set the cookie behavior to the third option? If so, please try to edit the js > avia-snippet-cookieconsent.js file, remove this code around line 439:

    remove_all_cookies( keep_cookies );
    

    Set the settings back to the third option, then check the page. Let us know if it changes anything.

    Just got it… Whoever might want to follow this – the path of this file is wp-content/themes/enfold/js

    Unfortunately the error is back again. I’ll keep the settings as mentioned above for the next half day so that you can check out yourselves and then will switch back to the first option unless I get other instructions from your side.

    We haven’t found the issue yet. Please set the cookie behavior to the first option for now so that the cookies are silently accepted on page load.

    Could you please replace /enfold/js/avia-snippet-cookieconsent.js file with – https://github.com/KriesiMedia/enfold-library/blob/master/temp_fixes/Enfold_4_6_3/avia-snippet-cookieconsent.js in Appearance > Editor and check if that helps?
    Please make sure to disable “Javascript file merging and compression” in Enfold theme options > Performance, save, flush cache and enable it once again.

    Fix will be included in upcoming version :)

    Hi Yigit,

    I have copied the code into the /enfold/js/avia-snippet-cookieconsent.js file and uploaded with FTP.

    What do you mean with Appearance => Editor??? Sorry – but I use the german version of the theme and have absolutely no clue where to find this. Hope this is just a different way of uploading the file instead of via FTP…

    Next step I have checked theme options > performance > “Javascript file merging and compression” (in German “Zusammenführen und Komprimieren von Javascipt-Dateien). Had been “active” (“Aktivieren – Zusammenführen und Komprimieren aller Theme-JavaScript-Dateien”. But as requested I have deactivated this (“Deaktivieren – keine Zusammenführung und Komprimierung von Javascript-Dateien”).

    Next step I have flushed my browser cache.

    Next step I have reactivated a.m. “Javascript file merging and compression” .

    Tested on my Iphone with Safari + latest version of Firefox/Chrome/Edge on my desktop device. It is working properly on all of them.

    Just one final question: I have exchanged the file in the Enfold theme path – not in the child theme. But as you will replace this file with the upcoming update this probably has been the correct way. Is this right????

    Yes, that is correct. You applied the fix that is going to be included so you will not need to edit the file again :)
