The settings I changed in Styling Extra (consent bar layout, and lots of other stuff) keep resetting after a while. It seems like when I change something new, the other settings get reset.
What could this be?
Drives me crazy!Mark

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?
Best regards,
VictoriaMay 27, 2018 at 2:32 pm #962743Hi Victoria,
Unfortunately I can’t login or see my website anymore since Friday evening. Tried everything and will have to wait for my webhoster to help out. Maybe there’s something wrong on the server side, which explains some of the issues I was having.
If things are still acting strange when my site is back up, I’ll send you a temporary login link.
Thanks.

May 28, 2018 at 1:14 pm #963157Hello again,
My website is back up, but still the settings in Styling Extra keep resetting. It’s actually worse now as they don’t stick at all, where before the changed settings would remain for a while.
So I can change for example the “strong” parameter to be a black fontcolor and then the next second I check the setting again in Sytling Extra, it’s gone and it’s not reflecting on my website as well.
Below is a temporary login link.
The website is in maintenance mode by the way.Mark

some Styling Settings suddenly do show up on the website, but not in the Styling Settings.Really weird…

May 28, 2018 at 1:51 pm #963195Re-uploaded a fresh copy of Enfold. Didn’t help.

May 28, 2018 at 7:37 pm #963412I pressed the ‘Reset all options’ button at the bottom of the Styling Extra window, thinking it would only reset the options in the Styling Extra window, but it reset everything of the Enfold settings!
Please tell me that there’s a file that I can put back from my backup in order to restore this, including my Quick CSS!
Thanks!
Mark
May 28, 2018 at 10:16 pm #963447The reset function didn’t help either with the Styling Extra settings. They keep resetting like I wrote before. Hopefully someone can look into this with the temporary login link I posted before.
After the total reset I changed all the Enfold settings back and made an export this time.
But I hope someone can tell me how to retrieve the Quick CSS from a backup. I read something about a database, but don’t understand how to get there.Mark
May 28, 2018 at 11:01 pm #963454Found the Quick CSS in uploads > dynamic_avia > enfold_child.css of a backup! What a relieve!
The Styling Extra problem still remains though.

May 29, 2018 at 2:29 pm #963711Hi,
What do you mean by “Styling Extra”? Please provide a screenshot of that option. Do you have a cache plugin installed? I would like to check it but I’m having trouble connecting to the site.
Best regards,
IsmaelMay 29, 2018 at 3:38 pm #963773Hi Ismael,
Did you manage to log in to my website?
The temporary login link works for me.
Styling Extra is maybe the Dutch translation. It’s the part where you can customize elements in Enfold. And these settings don’t stick.Mark
Edit: yes, I have W3 Total Cache installed- This reply was modified 6 years, 6 months ago by Multispace.
May 29, 2018 at 5:21 pm #963805It seems that when I type in all the things I want to change in Styling Extra (or whatever it’s called in English) in one go, these settings stick (for now at least). As soon as I change one setting later, all other settings are getting overwritten with the default values.

May 29, 2018 at 7:35 pm #963890Final observation:
as long as I leave all the elements that I’ve changed, open in Stylings Extra (so that you see the [strong], [Menu Links in overlay/slide out], etc), then all is fine when I add a new element that I want to change and hit ‘Save all changes’. All settings remain stored then.So I’m glad it stays like this now. Finally will be able to turn my website ‘live’.
Still I wonder if this is a bug in Enfold that I can’t close the elements without losing its settings or if there’s something else going on in my configuration (cache plug-in not good)?
IMPORTANT: If any moderator is going to login on my site, please don’t experiment with the elements in the Styling Extra window as everything is working now and the website is live!
Thanks.

June 1, 2018 at 9:48 am #965145Hi,
as long as I leave all the elements that I’ve changed, open in Stylings Extra
It’s not a bug. Clicking the “X” button will cancel or remove the styling out. Is that what you’re doing before?
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 1, 2018 at 11:42 am #965222Oh, haha, yes, I’ve been closing the element when I was done editing and saving. Didn’t know that that would actually remove the styling. Good to know! :-D
Nonetheless, yesterday after a few days of having no problems with this, suddenly all element-changes were not working anymore. Deleting cache and re-affirming a styling setting did the trick to get everything back.
So it seems not 100% stable yet, but I’m glad that I know now that I should leave the elements open that I’ve changed.
Thanks!

June 1, 2018 at 1:20 pm #965296Hi,
No problem. :D

Did you add some css modifications on the Quick CSS field? Please make sure that they’re closed properly. Check if there are missing semi colons or curly braces.
Please open a new thread if you encounter an issue again. :)

IsmaelJune 1, 2018 at 1:22 pm #965303I will, thanks!
