Hi Enfold team!
We require retina optimized images (High DPI) on our website and serve optimized image dimensions on different devices accordingly.
We would like enable this functionality via a WP Plugin.
The most recommended plugin for this feature is WP Retina 2X (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-retina-2x/). Unfortunately, the images are optimized for non-retina screens when using the Avio Layout Builder. However, using the default editor, the plugins seems to work fine.
Reference to this thread, the other recommended plugin is WP Responsify (https://wordpress.org/plugins/responsify-wp/) , which unfortunately has the same issue (i.e. does not work with layout builder) + it’s long been updated and is untested with recent WordPress versions.
My question is if there’s a WP Plugin that works correctly with Avio Layout Builder and optimizes images for Retina/Non-retina?
What are my options?
Thank you!

Unfortunately no. The plugins work with default functionality of WordPress but not with our editors.

a) Can you suggest a solution or workaround in that case?
b) Is there a plan to enable this retina optimization functionality in future? Thanks!

Retina images should be loaded by default ( from WordPress ) when you have upload a high image. So if u upload a retina image, WordPress will be handling all the rest it self.

I’m afraid I don’t understand. Are you saying Enfold theme support different dimensions of images by default?
i.e. Show retina (hi-res) image to a hi-res screen and show a low-res version of same to a mobile device?
My understanding is that we require to use a 3rd party plugin like WP Retina 2X to give us that option. (which unfortunately is not supported by Enfold Layout Builder at the moment).
Please let me know if I’ve understood this correctly.
Thanks

No u do not need a third party plugin. Enfold does it and WordPress also does it by default nowdays ;-)
Best regards,
