Hi,
I have a strange issue with one of my sites using Enfold.
Whenever edit a post that uses the page builder, on update cpu and memory maxes out on the server making the entire site and server unresponsive for a few minutes each time.
My host is suggesting disabling wp cron and upgrading to php7.0 or 7.1 , both of which I am reluctant to do as we’re using Event Espresso which relies on wp cron and is untested on php 7.
We’re planning on creating a new test version on a separate server to check this out, but wondered if you had come across this issue before ?
With thanks
Regards
Phil

Did you get a chance to take a look at this?
I’ve disabled wp-cron as my host suggested, and set up a cron job to run every 5 minutes through cpanel. Yet still the server resources max out whenever I try to edit a post or page using the page builder.

August 24, 2017 at 10:29 pm #843717Hi,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,

I have disabled Yoast SEO and Wordfence as suggested by my host, and things improve, but the CPU is still running too high when editing or creating a page or post..
I’m baffled.
Thanks
Phil
August 26, 2017 at 7:12 pm #844403Hi,
In your screenshot, it looks like your max memory is 384mb, this seems very low to me, do you have the option to increase it? Most of the basic hosting packages I’ve seen lately start at 1gb. With a cron job run every 5 minutes, which is very often, you may wish to look into if your cron job is running into errors and creating thousands of log files.
I would suggest creating a testing site on a different server, as you were planning, perhaps testing a different host that offers more physical memory.Best regards,
Mike -
