I have two sites that aren’t really that complicated or resource-intensive. They each have a slightly different modest buildout of plug-ins. One has WooCommerce and the other not. With each though I’ve started getting server errors (500) when going from one page to the other or attempting to edit certain pages but, most frequently when logging in I get a critical error message that goes away if I refresh the page. Health scan says there’s a loopback error and some scheduled operations aren’t executing.
I’ve done all the typical things to no avail, I’m in the process of migrating both from a shared server to a robust WP specific hosting platform but, it hasn’t seemed to fix the first instance. I’m transferring the second site tomorrow.
I know there’s not enough meat here for a specific fix but, does this ring any bells for similar experiences?
Hey pdxammo,
Unfortunately I don’t see any 500 errors on your site, if it is only in the backend it sounds like a admin-ajax.php error that is often a ModSecurity module for the Apache server error. There could be other issues, but I would check there first.
Best regards,
Mike
Appreciate the look. I just finished transferring to a much more competent hosting environment. I’ll see if it persists. The old host was using MySQL v 5.7 still. Perhaps that was the issue as these issues only popped up after updating WP, plug-ins, and theme.
These issues were solved by moving to a host that keeps current MySQL versions. Thank you.
