    Hi,
    I’ve been looking into the SEO of my site and the homepage isn’t recognized as the homepage. What could be wrong?

    I’m also running Yoast – just upgraded to premium

    Hey matinum,

    You can check the server response status using a service like this: https://httpstatus.io/. It looks like there’s a 301 redirect, do you have any plugins which might be causing that maybe?

    it’s just redirecting to HTTPS. Is that bad? I’m using Really Simple SSL pro and there’s a setting that says ” Enable WordPress 301 redirection to SSL” and I have it checked.

    Hi Matt,

    I’m not sure to be honest with you, but it’s likely better if you don’t have redirect at all. What exactly do you mean by homepage isn’t recognized as the homepage?

    Hi,

    Yes, there is a 301 redirect there, is that a plugin which is doing that? If so then you should not need it to redirect to https. If you simply change the site URL under Settings->General in WordPress then all your URLs should go by https after that.
