Hi Ismael,
I’m not a developer, so I must confess you start talking chinese to me there :-D
I didn’t configure the Apache server because I don’t even know what an Apache server is.
The site is not online yet, so if you need to disable some plugins, you can do it. I only hope all plugins settings will be kept…I worry a lot about all this, because we wanted to put our site online this week, and there are more and more problems those days :-(
Today, we found error messages in Products section of the back office (see screenshot in private content).
I found a post about this on your support: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-and-woocommerce-erors/.
I don’t really want to disable the DEBUG mode, because the issue will not really be solved. So I tried to clean my database a little bit, but errors are still displayed. I don’t know how to find this “butterbean” mentioned in this thread…July 21, 2020 at 6:48 am #1231950Hi,
We still don’t know why the internal server error occurs, unfortunately. Please ask your hosting provider to disable HTTP/2 temporarily.
Are you aware that the site’s front page is almost 50MB in size and does almost 400 requests? So that you know how critical that is or to put it in perspective, the front page of the largest online store is less than 10MB and makes half that requests. You may want to decrease the number of products or content displayed in the front page and distribute them to other pages. Make use of product categories so that you can redirect users to other pages.
Best regards,
IsmaelJuly 21, 2020 at 11:01 pm #1232111Hi Ismael,
I could ask our hosting provider to disable HTTP/2, but I’m not sure I could do it quickly and I’m not sure it gonna solve anything, because everything used to perfectly work before and HTTP/2 protocol had always been installed. Do you really think it could help?
I tried to deactivate all my plugins one by one and I think I found which one disables my search dropdown menu: WooCommerce plugin.
When I deactivate it, of course my search doesn’t find products, but it displays results again (see Screenshot 1).
So I think there is a conflict between WooCommerce plugin content and Enfold theme content…I saw you deactivated my Akismet and Autoptimize plugins. Is there a reason?
About my front page, I thank you for your informations, but I made a test with this website https://tools.pingdom.com/ and the weight of my home page seems to be “only” 21MB (see Screenshot 2)… Which tool did you use to test it?
Anyway, I followed your advice and I immediately decreased number of displayed products by my products slider. My home page is now 8MB heavy and there are 244 requests (Screenshot 3), but I would like to check with your tool to be sure.July 27, 2020 at 12:03 pm #1233492Hi,
Sorry for the delay. What is the current total count of products stored in the database? It’s possible that the internal server error occurs during the database query. Is there a staging or development version of the site?
So I tried to clean my database a little bit
How did you clean the database? Did you create a backup or a restore point of the site or the database before cleaning up?
Best regards,
IsmaelJuly 28, 2020 at 12:12 am #1233618Hi Ismael,
Thanks for your reply.
If it’s the same in the database, there are 621 products on our website.
There is no staging or development version of the site, but it’s not already online. But if you want to make some changes or testings, could you please inform me before, so I could make a backup before? Thanks!
I mostly made some cleaning in wp_postmeta (revisions, deleted posts, orphan posts…).
And my host makes automatic backups every day.July 31, 2020 at 6:52 am #1234310Hi,
As of this moment, we still don’t know why the search in the site is not working properly and we are also having difficulty doing the tests because the site is a little slow. You may need to contact a freelance developer or a third party service to help identify the issue.
Best regards,
IsmaelJuly 31, 2020 at 4:39 pm #1234390Hi Ismael,
What kind of tests did you make?
Also, I saw you deactivated my Akismet and Autoptimize plugins. Is there a reason?
And you didn’t answer me about which tool you used to test my frontpage weight and requests…
Thanks! ;-)August 4, 2020 at 4:54 am #1235022Hi,
We just did basic tests in the avia_ajax_search function inside the functions-enfold.php file, but failed to extract any results because the site is very slow on our end. Please hire a freelance developer or a maintenance agency to help out in identifying the issue. For some reason, doing a search triggers an internal server error, but we can’t reproduce the same issue on our own installations.
And you didn’t answer me about which tool you used to test my frontpage weight and requests…
We just observed the number of requests and check the size of the page directly in the browser inspector > Networks tab. We didn’t use any external tools but you can certainly do so if necessary. Popular choices are Gtmetrix or Google’s Lighthouse. And we deactivated the Autoptimize plugin temporarily to rule out any issues related to compression or script minification.
If you don’t mind, please open a new posts so that we can push this topic back to the queue, or refresh it. This thread is getting a bit long, so it tends to be a bit confusing for other moderators. I will also forward the new thread to our channel.
Best regards,
IsmaelAugust 10, 2020 at 7:15 am #1236385Hi!
The solution in this thread might help fix the AJAX search issue.
