Search error

Hey Karl,
If you want to enhance the wordpress search algorithm you can install a plugin like Relevanssi ( https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/relevanssi/ ). Then add this code to your child theme:

function avia_init_relevanssi($function_name, $search_query, $search_parameters, $defaults)

    $function_name = 'avia_relevanssi_search';
    return $function_name;
}

function avia_relevanssi_search($search_query, $search_parameters, $defaults)
{
    global $query;
    $tempquery = $query;
    if(empty($tempquery)) $tempquery = new WP_Query();

    $tempquery->query_vars = $search_parameters;
    relevanssi_do_query($tempquery);
    $posts = $tempquery->posts;

    return $posts;
}

to use Relavanssi for the Enfold ajax search too.

I tried to disable my .htaccess – Same problem
I tried to disable Enfold / Child and use TwentyX – Same problem
I tried to disable all plugins – same problem
I tried to install Relevanssi and add the extra thing to child function.php – same problem = NO SEARCH RESULTS???

It’s a HUGE job to disable all plugins and theme – Enfold don’t hold my footer settings and messes it up. Hours is spend on just to find…. NADA :-( :-(

Thanks for checking it out – Search for WordPress, WooCommerce or ‘Broken’, also you can see some products in the shop to search for…
Nothing will be found (only in the quick view when searching in header search but when you press enter – Nada shows up

I am glad to hear that it’s not just my sites but sad that it hits you as well… I have done a lot of testing and comparing against site that still worked (not upgraded yet due to the new massive change with Envato Personally Token system).

To be more precise with this bug in 4.5…. it’s the search preview that is now distorted, with huge thumbnails and lack of text… but if you then click search icon, it DOES go to the results.

I disabled my minification plugin and that fixed it…. :)
