Search Bar Results are Different When Using iPad/iPhone in AJAX and in WordPress

Good morning. We have a client that notified us that when she searched on their site using an iPhone or iPad, ” is not being searched. For example: On desktop someone might be searching for a part that is 3/8″ or 1/2″. Using ” is searched on desktop. When using ” on any iDevices, , it reports back zero results. This is the case within WordPress and the Ajax search bar. Turning off Smart Punctuation on iPhone did resolve the issue when searching. How would I go about changing this in the theme or within WordPress? I am not a programmer by any means, but I can replace code or figure out at least that much.
