    Hello,

The “save draft” button has disappeared from most of our pages. There is only an option to copy pages to a new draft.
Before we were able to make changes and save draft.
Please help us understand what happened and how we can bring the option back.
    Thanks

    Hi menainfosec,

Can you create a staging site? so we can try to debug the issue without affecting the live users of your website.
You can check this tutorial on how to create a staging site: https://wpengine.com/resources/what-is-a-staging-site-why-have-one/#How_to_Create_a_Staging_Site_for_WordPress
Just post the login credentials in private content.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi Nikko,

We can’t create a staging site. Please suggest another option how we can fix this.

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I created a test page, and that seems to be working as expected. How can we reproduce the problem you are seeing on your end?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

It appears on some pages, and not on others.

    Hi,

Thanks for that. The page you linked to seems to be published already? A page cannot be published and a draft at the same time. If you want to update your page, then you would simply click the Update button.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    HI Rikard,
In that case why there is the button for some pages and not for others? Also, we had it before and it disappeared.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. So when you publish a page, then you have to both update it as a draft and the published version? Like I wrote above, if a page is published then it’s no longer a draft. It can’t be both at the same time.

If you have a save as draft button on a page, then that page is not published yet.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

The “save draft” button used to be available even when pages were published, but it has disappeared suddenly for no reason!! This means that we can no longer work on a published page and save it as a draft. This could be inconvenient for situations where we want to make updates to a published page without immediately reflecting those changes to the public.
This limitation also affects our ability to save a page as a draft and later add templates from other pages to it when we’ve already started working on it, but unfortunately, it’s currently not possible. We want to restore the draft button, please assist on urgent basis

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, but the theme has never had the functionality you are referring to. Maybe it’s added by a plugin or custom code? We can’t restore or fix something which isn’t part of our theme unfortunately.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
