    Hey guys,
    Need some advice.
I built a site a few years back, and want to restore the original ‘portfolio items’.
I updated the theme, but they are still missing. wondering if there is a way to restore them.

    Hi Fieldtripper!

There’s a form appearing when viewing your site, asking for username and password, I tried both username and password for it but it doesn’t work, please check.

    Cheers!

    Hi!

I checked on your portfolio it’s hidden but if you go to the right url(check private content) you can go right through it but it’s all empty, I’m not sure if there’s a way to retrieve them since it may already have been removed from database. Though the images might still be in the uploads folder.

Nikko, I was just trying to find a way to reset the Portfolio items in order to use them in Masonry gallery. As it stands, the categories don’t show when creating a Masonry gallery.
No need to recover or restore any Portfolio posts, just trying to get back the functionality of the Portfolio Items.

I upgraded to the newest version of Enfold and turned off the plugin that controls customs posts, but can’t find a way to get the Portfolio Items to show in the left dashboard.
    Any advice would be helpful.

    Hi!

What plugin you was using, for custom post types?
Maybe you turned it off, with any type of function?

Discovered that the plugin that hides the Portfolio items is:
    Admin Menu Editor
When this one is turned off, the ‘Portfolio items appear in the dashboard.

But the bad news is that all the thumbnails and photos in the media library are not showing.
I tuned off all the plugins and re-installed the theme, but the entire media library shows no photos.
Is there a fix fro this?

    Any help would be appreciatred.

    Hi,

Can you give us ftp access? so we can check your uploads folder. Let’s hope it’s not deleted in the database or being removed. For the meantime, can you try doing switching Enfold to any default wordpress themes, twenty-sixteen, twenty-fifteen, etc, and check the media library if the images shows up.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Nikko,
    Added ftp access below.
    I ran these tests:
restored the site, including database from an earlier version.
set the theme to a default theme – the media library was visible again
uploaded new versions of the enfold theme and child theme
    – now the media library is about half visible and the other half looks as though all the thumbnails and photos are broken.

    thank you

    Hi,

Thank you for the info. Please try to regenerate the thumbnails with this plugin.

Sorry, was away in Cuba all December and getting back to this project now.
I updated WordPress, Updated to the latest version of Enfold, closed all plugins and ran ‘Regenserate thumbnails plugin. It fixed the thumbnails on the 1st page of the media list, but all beginning on the second page, all other thumbnails don’t show in the media library, or if I try to insert an image into a page.

Any other ideas on how to fix this?

    Hi,

The attachments or images are probably erased from the database or the entries are corrupted. I’m afraid that we won’t be able to help you recover them unless you have a site backup. Please contact your hosting provider or upload the featured images again manually.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
