Hi!
I’m new to enfold (and website designing in general) and first of all I would like to say how much I appreciate your efforts to making enfold being really nice and easy to set up. So far … ;-)
I just finished the website of my wife and I have two fancy color sections with background pictures on my home page (one at the top and one at the bottom). They look really great on my desktop monitor and my wife’s laptop, Unfortunetaly, they do scale very badly when watching at the website via smartphone. When I tilt the smart phone to the side (“widescreen”) it sizes correctly, but not while holding the smartphone upright …
I would really appreciate if you could help me with some tips or “magic” code… ;-)
I put the link to the website into the private content.
Thanks a lot in advance!

One solution would be to use a photo editor to edit the image to be more mobile friendly, and then use css to display that instead on mobile devices.
Best regards,

Thanks for your quick reply!
That’s actually something I already tried to some extend: I copied the entire color section in the advanced layout editor, configured it to be displayed only for very small screens of up to 479 pixels and replaced the pictured used as background with the same picture, I resized earlier to a width of 479 pixels. Though the picture was displayed differently, it was still not displayed properly but in a kind of zoomed in way and really grainy…
I played around with all the different settings Enfold offers to place the picture (stretch to fit, scale to fit etc.) but nothing seemed to help. The pic always looked like it was stretched beyond the screen and only the most center part was visible on my smartphone display.
Also, I do not have the slightest clue about CSS …
Best

RikardOctober 13, 2017 at 6:25 pm #864076Hi Rikard,
that would be really great! I played around a little bit more and now it looks OK, though I’m not really satisfied. I do not understand why the pictures are not displayed in their entirety, but only in a small part.
Please find the link with the login in the private content down below.
Thanks a lot for your help!
SebastianOctober 17, 2017 at 3:49 am #865064Hi,
I do not understand why the pictures are not displayed in their entirety, but only in a small part.
The background size property is set to “cover” (http://bit.ly/2nBh42o) which means that the image will cover the entire container but parts of the image may not be in view of the background positioning area because it has to keep its aspect ratio. We can set the background size property to “contain” or “100%” but it may create white spaces around the container or distort the background image. If you’re satisfied with the position of the background image but find it a little bit blurry, try to double the size of that background image.
Best regards,
