After building my website based on a Enfold child theme I decided to rename this child theme for clarification. In the network administration backend I simply edited the style.css as follows:
OLD:
Theme Name: Enfold Child 123
NEW:
Theme Name: Enfold Child XYZ
I did not change the folder name of the child theme in the file system.
This looks like a small cosmetic change, but when I looked at my website all customization I did for my Enfold child theme was gone. How can I avoid/repair this?
Hey futurecom!
every child theme behaves like an own theme and when you change the child theme name, WordPress thinks you are using a different theme. So you need to import all your settings to your “new” child theme. Export your settings from your old child theme and import them into your new one.

Hope this helps!
Cheers!
