Removing menu items

Hi All,

I have a (probably rookie) question. I’ve started the site mepz and there are a lot of menu items that I don’t want to use. When I go to these pages in the backend of WordPress, for example ‘Portfolio’ – it is not clear to me how I remove/hide this in the menu.

I had deleted pages like ‘Shop examples’ etc. but they don’t disappear from the menu. I permanently deleted them so I hope this doesnt give unresolvable issues :(
Also. I don’t know why all of a sudden I see the menu items with lots of text (“Infotext, these are just a few examples” etc.).

If someone could help me out or at least point me in the right direction, that would be very much appreciated!
