I would like visitors to my site to view various category titles in my blog posts, but NOT allow them to link through to a category page. Rather, I would like the blog title or read more link to click through to a fixed page designed with Avia Layout Builder.

Here is my test site: cwgpp.org. On the home page, the first most recent post has the category of “Built & Natural Environment”. I would that link to flow to this page: http://cwgpp.org/about/built-natural-environment/ and not this page: http://cwgpp.org/category/built-natural-environment/

I would like to offer that for each individual category. Is this possible?

    Hey Brigitte,

I don’t think that would be possible unfortunately. Also, I don’t understand why you would like to do that? If the user expects to be taken to a category page and then ends up somewhere else it would likely be a bit confusing?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

My challenge is that we have well-formatted pages operating like a category landing pages. If I can’t shut off this feature (which would be okay with me and my users as there are a myriad of ways to get to a ‘category’ aka research area page), how do I get category pages to be formatted?

Currently what clients see when they click on a category

What I’d like them to see

    Hi!

    Thank you for the info.

You can change the default category base prefix in the Settings > Permalink panel. Look for the Category base field. Unfortunately, the options for this feature is very limited and most of the plugins that can modify the url structure are deprecated.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
