Hi guys, just for curiosity, I’m deleting some old media files and as Enfold theme generates several image size from each image uploaded, I want to know when I “Delete Permanently” from the Media Library the original file uploaded, all those background sizes are also deleted? http://s33.postimg.org/c0swge0lr/Media_regenerate_sizes.jpg
If not, is there a plugin that you know or recommend, who can perform a “CCleaner” of those cache files?
I think the purpose of so many sizes was for functionality in all types of devices, This does not harm the performance of the site, isn’t it?
Thanks and best regards.
Hey nicolasweh,
this is not Enfold’s but WordPress’ default behavior.
Wordpress is cropping images by default when uploading them and if you want to control this behavior you can use a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes
I hope this will help :).
Best regards,
Andy
Ah Ok Andy, I didn’t know about the plugin.
With 1770 media already uploaded, Do you think it deserves the worth it?
Will improve functionality? or just be to take less database that certainly only notice it when performing backups?

Thanks
Hi,
Yes, removing unused media will not affect the site performance but yes it will help to minimise the database space and help you save some backup time :)
Best regards,
Vinay
Ok, great, I’ll do that.
Thanks and congrats for the latest update! :)
