Hi
I have a blogpost on my website where people can comment, but I would like to remove the default text “Want to join the discussion? Feel free to contribute!” below the headline SKRIV EN KOMMENTAR, and I also want to remove the default field Websted (Website). How do I do that? Also, according to the settings I’m supposed to receive an email when somebody writes a comment but that is not happening. Where can I change that?
January 30, 2018 at 11:22 am #904728Hey Kreutzfeld,
As for the text, try adding this css code in Quick CSS (located in Enfold > General Styling):
.comment_container span.minitext { display: none; }As for the website field, try checking this post: https://www.cloudways.com/blog/how-to-remove-url-field-from-wordpress-comment-form/ :)

January 30, 2018 at 12:10 pm #904786Hi,
Glad we could help. Let us know if you need further assistance or if we can close the thread :)
Best regards,
NikkoJanuary 30, 2018 at 12:22 pm #904797Well – a new issue appeared: I wrote a comment to test the settings, and the comment now requires approval. I had removed that setting earlier but now I don’t remember how I did it!
January 30, 2018 at 12:58 pm #904810Hi,
I just tested it on the link you posted and I was able to post, screenshot in private content. Is it already fixed?
Best regards,
NikkoJanuary 30, 2018 at 1:05 pm #904817Ehm – I am not sure what happened. When I tested, it said, both in front end and in WP admin control panel, that the comment was awaiting approval. But I can see now, that your test comment is fine and not requiring approval. All is good – thank you for testing :)
January 30, 2018 at 1:26 pm #904842Hi Kreutzfeld,
You’re welcome :) We will keep this thread open until you have tested it further. Once you have tested it, let us know if we can close the thread or if there’s are other issues :)
Best regards,
NikkoJanuary 31, 2018 at 1:40 pm #905557Hi again, and thanks for keeping this thread open.
I have tested again and had someone else testing as well, and we both get notified that the comment has to be approved.January 31, 2018 at 2:30 pm #905574Hi,
I see, you can set that in Settings > Discussion, this is a wordpress feature, for more information regarding comment moderation, you can check these posts:

Hope this helps.Best regards,
NikkoJanuary 31, 2018 at 2:55 pm #905603I did set it in Settings > Discussion. That’s why I’m wondering. I will take a look at the links you provided – hoping to find a solution.
February 1, 2018 at 2:41 am #905953Hi,
In Settings > Discussion > Before a comment appears and uncheck Comment must be manually approved
Hope this helps.Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 1, 2018 at 9:03 am #906057Hi Nikko
That is exactly what I have done – but it makes no difference.February 1, 2018 at 9:43 am #906086Hi,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 1, 2018 at 10:14 am #906110Thanks, Nikko
I have created a temporary user for you – link is in the private content section.February 1, 2018 at 11:16 am #906197Hi,
Thanks for providing the admin access, however it doesn’t work on your site, I tested the same settings on my local server and it works fine. Can you try deactivating all the plugins and check again? if you can’t put the site in maintenance mode, can you create a stage site? where we can try to troubleshoot and fix the issue.
Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 1, 2018 at 4:02 pm #906358Hi
I have now added you as a user with admin rights – details in private section.February 2, 2018 at 5:46 am #906621Hi,
Thanks for providing the admin access, I have tried to switch it to default theme and test it (works fine), switched the theme again to Enfold Child and now it works properly, let us know if it works well on your end. :)
Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 2, 2018 at 7:58 am #906701Hi Nikko
Thanks for all your help and testing! It seems to be working here after I unchecked the boxes to fill in name and email. When I write a comment without filling in those boxes everything is fine, but if I fill in my name and email, my comment requires approval – strange! However, I can live with that :)
Again, thanks for all your help!
Best regards,
– UllaFebruary 2, 2018 at 8:04 am #906717Hi Ulla,
That’s weird, I put it in email and name before I’m allowed to comment when I tested it. We’ll just keep this thread open, maybe there are still issues. :)
Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 2, 2018 at 10:30 am #906753Yes, it is weird. I found out that it’s only if I apply my admin email that the comment requires approval. If I apply a different emal, no approval is required. I will ask someone else to test, and will get back to you soon.
February 2, 2018 at 4:13 pm #906879Hi Kreutzfeld,
Sure we will wait for your feedback and keep this thread open :)
Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 2, 2018 at 7:27 pm #906972Hi Nikko
I had my co-admin test it, and she gets the same results as I do: with admin email the comment needs to be approved – with any other email no approval is required.Best regards,
– UllaFebruary 5, 2018 at 3:17 am #907636Hi Ulla,
Hmm, I’m not really sure why it’s working like that, but would it be okay to use another email instead? I really couldn’t think of anything that might cause the issue. :(
Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 5, 2018 at 7:47 am #907786Hi Nikko
The important thing is that other people can write comments without problems – and they will of course be using other email addresses, so we will just leave it at that :)
Thanks for your patience :)
Best regards,
– Ulla -
