Remove border/padding around images in columns

Hello, first off awesome job with this theme!
I have an issue that I can’t seem to resolve. I have a color section with 3 columns. Each has an image at the top with a special heading and text below it. Each column has a white background. The problem is that the white background extends beyond the image to the left and right. (Not above and below)

I would like to not have any white background on either side of the image, and have it only extend down so that I can read the heading and text below. I’m starting to believe that the actual problem may be that there is some sort of padding that is default around the image itself, because if I align it to the left or right the with border disappears.

What would be great is if the image itself would stretch to fit the width of the column, rather than allowing a background border around itself.
