    Hi,
I want to optimize my website for speed and I have two questions:
    1. Does it matter which resolution I upload pictures in? Meaning if I upload large resolution pictures, will wordpress automatically resize for optimal speed?
    2. If it does matter, where can I see an overview of the recommended resolution for the different usages in Enfold (featured image, masonry, layerslider, color section …)
    Thanks,
    Jon Erik

    Hey Jon Erik,

    Thank you for using Enfold.

The theme generates small versions or thumbnails of the original image but it’s still better if it is already optimized for web use prior to upload. http://kriesi.at/archives/4-key-wordpress-image-optimization-tips

    Best regards,

    Thanks,

Don’t know if I you really answered my question.
Should I change the resolution before I upload my files?
If so, which resolution is recommended for which feature in Enfold ( see my original question)?

I understand that I can use compression through different tools.

    Thanks,
    Jon Erik

    Hi!

No you do not need to change resolution.
You can upload and then install a plugin from the list, which will help you optimize the images size.

Please do let us know if we can help you further

    Cheers!
