I updated theme on a staging copy – and looks like I have problem with our WooProducts with add on – timing out and never go to product page

I select an item in our woo store – it times out and never goes to product –
these are Simple products with the WooCommerce Add-on
    get this error:
    Gateway Timeout
The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application.
I tried to get in from product editor – preview changes but that also timed out and would not display

Our products with no addon feature seem to work as do our Woo Booking products.

    Thank you

Thank you – I ran this by my host site support and they responded:

“I have checked out the reported issue and it seems that it is related to the enfold theme. I have logged into the WordPress application content folder and have created a database copy of your website. Then I manually switched the theme of the website with a default one for WordPress (Twenty Seventeen) and the product pages were loading as expected (even though the formatting was a bit off with the default theme).”

I did not have this problem before the Enfold theme update.
Can you see if there is something that can be fixed on your end?
Like I stated – it’s not a problem with all products just simple products with the addon options. Maybe others are having this same issue.
    Thank you much
    Pat

    Hi there,

I am going through exactly the same issue with sites using WOOCOMMERCE ADD-ONS.
(sites without add-ons – no problem, those with WooCommerce add-ons – big problemos!)

There is a definite BUG here when used with WooCommerce Add-Ons.
I get either a TIMEOUT or 502 ERROR.
If I restore the previous version – no problems.
I also switched to a default theme – no issues.
The Enfold update 4.2.5 is triggering this issue

ENFOLD CHAPS – PLEASE CAN YOU HELP?
    Stevo :-)

    Hi,

Thank you for the info. How can we reproduce the issue? I edited the product that you mentioned above but I didn’t encounter the issue. ( see private field )

    Best regards,
    Ismael

UPDATE: I have noticed that if I edit the product and do the following:

    * Switch to DEFAULT EDITOR (instead of ADVANCED LAYOUT EDITOR)
    * Save
    * Switch back to ADVANCED LAYOUT EDITOR
    * Save
    * View product page

…the problem has disappeared, and the product will display again.
The problem being that you’d need to do this with EVERY product!

Any thoughts on this ENFOLD peeps?

    Hi,

That is something strange, even if you need to change and come back.
That has happen previouslu only on cached versions.

Do you use a Apache or NGINX?

    Best regards,
    Basilis

    #923315

    Hi Basilis,

    It is Apache (1&1).
I use Wordfence security, but that no longer uses caching (I’m pretty sure).

But this did happen on every single woocommerce site, where Advanced Editor was used.

ps. Another site is on WP Engine, using NGINX I believe.

    #924055

    Hi,

    WPEngine
    has a really good cache.
Do you remove it when checking from the dashboard?

    Best regards,
    Basilis

    #924091

Hi Basilis – No, I am not clearing cache.

I don’t think this will work as the problem is occuring universally on WooCommerce sites where advanced products are used.
The only difference on WPEngine being that it throws a 502 error immediately, rather than hanging in white space.

    Hi,

I am afraid we cant do anything else, if you cant clear your cachec.

    Best regards,
    Basilis

    #924770

    Basilis – you misunderstand me!
    I didn’t say I wouldn’t, I meant that I hadn’t yet!

I mentioned that it didn’t seem useful as it was happening on 3 different server setups, including WP Engine.

I will clear cache shortly on WP Engine, then I’ll need to re-update ENFOLD to 4.2.6, and see if this works. I will then report back here.

I am leaving this until Monday as the client has big sales going on.

I hope some research into all the other complaints on this issue is happening though, as I’m not convinced it’s just about ‘cache’.

    Regards
    Stevo

    #924780

Just to be clear…are you using the little code patch they posted in another thread? For me I am, but it has broken every product page other than virtual products.

    #924789

No Kahil – sounds like it’s making the issue worse!

I resolved it myself by going into each product, changing from advanced editor back to default, then back to advanced, and saving the product page again. Problem gone.

This worked for me on every single site so far.

I have no idea however what the real issue is, which is why I posted here….

    Hi,

Our development team is working to get it short out.
We appreciate your patience while we work on the issue please.

    Thank you

    Best regards,
    Basilis

    #925728

    Thanks Basilis.

PLEASE NOTE: I personally resolved the issue by going into each product, changing from advanced editor back to default, then back to advanced, and saving the product page again. This worked 100% on Apache & NGINX.

    :-)

    Hi,

That’s odd. Did you add a product purchase button element to the product? This thread might help.

    // https://kriesi.at/support/topic/avia-editor-product-purchase-button-crash-the-page-at-variable-products/#post-927017

    Best regards,

    #927128

Product buttons are used, but they were there already – nothing was changed on this site in woocommerce prior to the update.

    #927331

    Hi,

Did you try the solution from the following thread? The button causes an infinite loop in the product page hence the error.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #927341

It seems it’s fixed ready for the next update Ismael. I’ll await that I think, seeing as it’s fixed for now…

    Thank you
