We have a contact form displayed in a pop-up that loads the first time a user visits the home page and are getting orange outlined/spam message when trying to submit using the form (There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later). Google reCAPTCHA v3 is set-up/integrated with Contact Form 7. But it looks like it’s not loading for the pop-up. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks!

November 2, 2023 at 3:47 pm #1424403Hi,
Thank you for the info.
Where can we see the issue? Please provide the site URL in the private field so that we can check the contact forms. Are you using the default lightbox from the theme?
Best regards,
IsmaelNovember 2, 2023 at 3:52 pm #1424405The pop-up/form is on the home page.

It is set to open only the first time you visit the website. So if you need to view it again, you will need to open a new private tab in your browser.November 3, 2023 at 3:01 am #1424461Hi,
Thank you for the info.
We get a “spam” error when we try to submit the form but we are not really sure what could be causing this. This the error or response after submission.
{ "contact_form_id": 26014, "status": "spam", "message": "There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.", "posted_data_hash": "", "into": "#wpcf7-f26014-o1", "invalid_fields": [] }
We also get this error in the console prior to submitting the contact form, which might be related.
Uncaught referenceError obs is not defined at (index):628:18
Have you tried contacting the WPCF7 plugin developers about the issue?
Best regards,
IsmaelNovember 6, 2023 at 7:43 pm #1424822Hi Ismael,
I spoke with WPCF7 support (see the link below) and they suggested deactivating Enfold, activating one of the default WordPress themes and deactivating all plugins except for CF7. I activated the Twenty Twenty theme and tested the pop-up/form with all the plugins active. When I did that, I could see the reCAPTCHA load on the home page and the test submission I did with the form in the pop-up worked with no issues.I included a link to the staging copy of the website that has Twenty Twenty active and you can see the reCAPTCHA at the bottom of the page. I can reactivate Enfold once you have had a look. But it does look like this is something to do with Enfold. If you can please look into it further, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

November 9, 2023 at 7:58 am #1425077Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Did they say anything about the error that we mentioned above? Please provide an admin account to the staging site so that we can check the issue further.
Best regards,
IsmaelNovember 9, 2023 at 2:04 pm #1425115Hi Ismael,
All they mentioned was what is in their reply in the link provided in my last post. I set-up an admin user on the staging copy of the website. The user/password are in the private content. Feel free to activate the Enfold child theme (Maritime Travel) to test the form/reCAPTCHA in the pop-up.November 15, 2023 at 6:02 am #1425650 -
