Requirement
A classic blog layout that is the same on the homepage as the blog page. The homepage and blog overview page MUST have a call to action full width section above the widgets (or in the widget area, but I can’t see a way to do that). Since everyone probably has a different idea of ‘classic’ here’s what I’m after:
– option of small picture
– ability to default the pencil icon to something else
– blog post title
– blog post meta
– blog excerpt with visible clickable option, e.g. a read more link
– all this displayed left aligned, and full width of the section it’s in (not centred and with massive margins like the ALB does)Problem
I can’t use the standard blog options, because they don’t allow a full width call to action above the footer. That’s possibly acceptable on a ‘blog’ page, but not on the homepage! So I need to use the ALB layout, and then I’m stuck. I use the ALB layout elements 2/3 + 1/3. I use the ALB Blog element in the 2/3 and select ‘Single author, small preview pic’. I put the sidebar element in the 1/3. These items do not display the same way that just selecting the blog layout in the theme options does. The blog posts are now centered in the 2/3 and there is no image box (on the theme options blog page they’re left aligned with the small image box showing on the left). In addition, the sidebar in the 1/3 comes up styled differently than if I used it outside the ALB.
Do you have any help resources on using the blog that I’ve missed?

Thank you for using Enfold.
Can you please provide a screenshot or an example of the blog page that you want? If you want a customized blog page, you can edit includes > loop-index.php. Or use the Advance Layout Builder. Set the Blog Style as “Use the advance layout builder..”.
Cheers!
IsmaelOctober 28, 2014 at 6:08 pm #342355The thing is, I don’t want a customised blog page. I *just* want the blog layout on the homepage to match the layout on the blog page. Sounds simple doesn’t it? I selected single author, small picture, and the layouts are totally different.
October 30, 2014 at 4:03 pm #343456Hi!
Alright. They are different because the blog style single author, small picture have two different layouts, one for pagew with sidebar and another for pages without a sidebar. Unfortunately, changing the layout of the blog style will require a major modification on the theme or at least the css styling. This task is simply beyond the scope of support and is not a theme related issue. Please hire a freelance developer or find a third party plugin that coincide with the theme. For further modifications, please visit Envato Studio or Werkpress.
If you have any further questions about the theme, we are more than happy to provide you with assistance on these inquiries. Thank you for your understanding.
Regards,
Ismael -
