    My site currently uses an Enfold Child theme, but because some aspects of the theme are not working properly (i.e. text edit box font is white so I cannot read what I am typing or tag line will not disappear even though I have erased it in the site identity), I re-bought the Enfold theme to build a new website from scratch. However, I am not sure how to upload it. The FTP video does not help because I do not have access to WordPress’ live server. When I tried just adding a new theme uploading the enfold.zip file into WordPress, the action failed. Can someone please help me as I’ve never done website building before? I can provide login credentials if needed so that you can see what I am talking about. Thank you!!!

    Hey epipipharoo,

    Did you extract the .zip file you downloaded from Themeforest on your local computer? The theme .zip file should be located inside of it.

    Yes I have the .zip file but it will not upload when I try uploading the theme into my website. I watched the FTP tutorial multiple times but do not understand how I get connected to the WordPress live server since he doesn’t go over that?

    Do I need to delete the current Enfold theme on my website before reuploading? I want to start from scratch.

    Great thank you it worked! However, elements of the theme are still not working. For example, when I try to edit some of my Pages, why is the text in the content builder/text block white? I cannot see what I am editing.

    Hi,

    Can you try to disable all the plugins? if that fixes the issue, try to activate one by one to know what plugin is causing the issue. If that didn’t fix the issue can you give us ftp access, so we can check the files and error logs.

    Hi,

    I apologize for this since I have tried to do it in the normal process so I needed to delete Enfold then re-upload it however I get this when I try to upload:

    Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)

    Also I tried ftp access but is the .ftpquota file and nothing more (I couldn’t see the error log files or upload the theme via ftp).

    Please clarify what you meant by “Also I tried ftp access but is the .ftpquota file and nothing more.” What information do I need to give you for you to correctly access my ftp and figure out what is wrong so that I can use the full features of the theme? I cannot see what I am editing or writing, which is becoming very inefficient and annoying.

    Hi,

    I apologize for the inconvenience and it was a mistake on my part to remove and try to re-upload the theme via Appearance > Themes in the WP Dashboard. I have tried to access ftp since uploading the theme restricts me since it was giving 403 error (security), however I couldn’t find it. I have attached a screenshot on what contents are available via ftp.

    Sorry for the late response and missing this thread. Your site is now fixed. The problem wasn’t in the theme as it was not showing even with the default theme. To fix it I had added this code in wp-config.php:

    define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false );
