I created an online shop with “Hot Item” category. The product belong to “Hot Item” also belong to some other category like “Sofa”, “Chair”, “Table”, etc. And I use product grid to display this “Hot Item” category with the default sorting.
But I found the product list displayed in the following order:
1. Sofa product
2. Chair product
3. Sofa product
4. Table product
5. Sofa product
6. Chair product
and so on…it basically sort by product name.We want to sort it by product category e.g. display all sofa first and chair and table….but the product grid does not have an option to sort by category. Is there any custom code I can add to function.php to add this setting to product grid?

Unfortunately, it would require quite some time and customization of the theme to achieve this, so I am sorry to tell you that this is not covered by our support. However, if it’s really important for you to get this done, you can always hire a freelancer to do the job for you :)
