I’m not sure if you can help me on this one but you might run into smth similar in the past… I just copied my site from my dev environment to my live environment… I set all the paths according to the live environment. Everything works fine, no server errors or console errors, but I’m using this plugin called wp retina 2x to display retina images, which also worked fine on my dev environment. After moving the site though, it stopped working partially… some of the images get retinized correctly, like here https://www.gasthaus-halbwax.com/event/osterbrunch/ but some like the header logo and all the images on the startpage(https://www.gasthaus-halbwax.com/) just don’t and I don’t have any clue why… I also noticed that the images that get retinized don’t come from your theme, meaning all the images that are used in plugins that originally don’t come with your theme(for instance the event calendar) render correctly. So I thought your theme might cash some files or paths to files which could break the functionality of the retina plugin. So in theme options I found the performance tab. I just disabled all minification and caching options but unfortunately this didn’t help either.
Please help me, I know you probably see me as an annoying customer by now, but that should be the last thing, if that works, the site should be ready to go and I’ll finally leave you guys alone :P

edit… I also checked the wp retina 2x plugin logs and saw that there is a simple dot(current directory=>unnecessary) in some of the file paths…

….All the images that have a dot in their path, won’t display as their retina equivalent, but I don’t know how to reset this or fix it…

I also noticed that when I turn on theme caching and minification and disabling my caching plugin, the paths don’t work anymore… some of the paths are double like this: https://http://www.gasthaus-halbwax.com/www.gasthaus-halbwax.com/wp-content/uploads/header-bar.jpgI don’t know, it’s very strange… I hope you can help me…

We apologize for the delayed response. Strange issues usually comes from caching and/or minification.
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,

no worries at all, I just want to make sure that the retina images work. Please check out the login credentials in the private content box. As I said the retina plugin worked on my DEV-Environment, then I published it to my Live-Environment, set all the paths to the correct domain and it stopped working partially… strangely all the images that are placed in plugins, that don’t come with your theme get retinized correctly, it’s just the ones in the pagebuilder or the main logo inside the header which don’t work, which made me think, there might be some caching in your theme that breaks something.
Please take care of the site, as it’s already live.

I don’t know if it was you or me but everything works now… except 3 images on the startpage(https://www.gasthaus-halbwax.com/) the big one with the wine bottle, the old photo of the house and the photo of the table don’t get retinized. Everything else works!
If you could check those 3 photos, that would be great!

I have checked those photos, when I removed the link on the image on the 2 images below the big image of wine bottle, it works fine.
I’m not really sure if there’s some settings with the retina plugin that might help with this.Best regards,

No worries, I’m not online with 2 copies of your theme, I just activated the domain again, to be able to show you, I’m gonna delete this duplicate after the live site is without errors.

As for the issue seems to be a caching issue that’s why its working on your dev site.
I tried to re-upload the same image and I was expecting it to fetch the image I re-uploaded (link of new image in private content) but it’s still using the old image.Best regards,

What do you mean by destroying the startpage?
The only thing I made was to flush out the cache and try to replace the wine bottle image with exactly similar image which isn’t fetched.Best regards,

When I mentioned I uploaded the same image, I’m referring to the screenshot in private content.
Visually nothing is changed but the image url should be updated with the new one, but it’s not changing which means it’s affected by caching.Best regards,
Nikkoyeah but you changed the mobile image, which is only visible on mobile devices and you changed it to the wrong photo, so the startpage had the same image twice on it on mobile… listen I don’t wanna argue about that, you made a mistake, that’s fine, please take care next time and think before you change stuff.
