Hello!
My menu (main menu) is not displaying properly.
On desktop…
The search icon has changed to a Facebook icon, (although clicking on this icon brings up the search box). A new (unwanted) category called “Menu” has appeared after the menu that I built.
On mobile…
No menu appears.
I wonder has anyone else had a similar experience? Am I causing this somehow? Or is something corrupt?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Adrian

Thankyou very much for your answer. Removing that code as you suggested solved one of the problems…
(I recently started using a child-theme. This is when my menu issues started.)
I was a bit shocked to find that my custom.css was causing the problem. My apologies for this!Up until changing to a child theme everything had been fine. (Here is a screen shot of the home page before using the child theme – https://vizspecialeffects.nl/original.png). The Facebook logo linked to my Facebook page and the search icon activated a search.
The problem at the moment…
1) No menu appears on the mobile version of the site.
2) There is an unwanted extra menu category after the search icon in the desktop version. This category is called “Menu”, but should not appear at all.I’ve tried locating the problems myself but haven’t got anywhere. If you have any suggestions I would be very grateful!
Thanks again!

May 16, 2018 at 8:33 am #957381Hi,
Thank you for the update. Everything looks OK on the dashboard. Did you modify the parent the theme files? What is the version of the theme prior to the update?
Best regards,
IsmaelMay 16, 2018 at 9:31 am #957415Hello Ismael,
Thanks so much for taking a look!
No. I didn’t alter any parent files in the theme.
I don’t remember the exact version of WordPress I was using before I updated.
Can this be to do with CSS? My changes are in the style.css file in the child theme and in the Quick CSS section of the dashboard.
Kind regards,
Adrian
May 16, 2018 at 4:50 pm #957583Hello Ismael,
I quickly removed all my CSS adaptations, (style.css in the child theme), to see if these were causing the problem… but even with no CSS the menu was still acting strangely.
No menu appears on mobile.
There is an extra category “Menu” on the desktop site.Should I reinstall Enfold and WP? This way we know that it’s not these installations either.
Lots of thanks!
Adrian
May 17, 2018 at 12:02 pm #958113Hello Victoria, Ismael,
Thanks again for all your help!
Since I’m using a child-theme, I thought let’s give it a try…I re-installed the Enfold theme… and the problem with menus went away.
Everything’s hunky dory now.
Kind regards,
Adrian
