Hi, I’m having several problems with the enfold custom widget area.
1. I don’t seem to be able to delete a custom widget area from Appearance>Widgets once it’s been created. A javascript alert pops up asking “Do you really want to delete this widget area?” to which I click “OK”… the alert then closes and that’s it.
2. I don’t seem to be able to control the contents of a custom widget area. When an ALB > Content Element > Widget Area is placed into a page with my Custom Widget Area selected, there is no html output. All other page elements display properly but not the contents of my custom widget area. Strangely, that same custom widget area outputs a list of all site pages, categories, and archives when selected in a page’s Sidebar Settings. In both cases I cannot control what is output.
3. When trying to use the Customizer to edit widgets, I surf to the page in question and on the left do not see available any of the Custom Widget Areas that have been assigned to that page.
I am using Enfold v3.4.5 on WP 4.4.2.
Any help is appreciated!
February 19, 2016 at 9:48 am #585928Well it seems like these issues have to do with the plugin i am using to populate the custom widget…
AW WordPress Yearly Category Archives
https://wordpress.org/plugins/aw-yearly-category-archives/That’s too bad because I really wanted to use that plugin!
February 22, 2016 at 5:17 am #586821Hi,
Ok, glad you found the cause of the problems. You might want to look for an alternative plugin?
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 22, 2016 at 9:11 pm #587453I have completely removed that plugin but still cannot delete custom widget areas once they are created. This has been the case since I installed Enfold so it’s not related to the widget that was causing the other issues mentioned above.
ps. Not sure if this is a given or not…. i’m looking for these settings in Enfold’s “Theme Options” in the WP admin area.
