Hello,
(I open a new thread now because now it is about the theme update, not the PHP version).
I updated Enfold (via ftp, no plugin was active during the process) and now I have a few problems (I am using a child theme).
-In the General settings there are font colours I didn’t use (grey and green, probably default colours), my logo on my entry page is cut off, and the slider behaves different.
-I went to “Upload theme settings file” in the child theme to upload the file I had exported befor the update, because I thought that might solve the problems, but nothing changed.Unfortunately I am in a hurry because my hoster will stop support for the PHP version I use now by the end of next week and I also have to update WordPress.
Can you advise?
Thanks a lot
January 10, 2017 at 6:20 am #731384Hey curious2c,
Thanks for the login details, you are running an old version of WordPress. Could you try updating to the latest version to see if that helps please?
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 10, 2017 at 11:31 pm #731778Hello Rikard,
Thanks a lot for your reply. Unfortunately the WordPress update to 4.7 didn’t help, nor did the update to PHP7.
Best regards
January 13, 2017 at 5:28 pm #733230Hi,
Sorry for the late reply!
I checked your website but cannot see any issues. Have you figured it out already?
If not, can you please post screenshots and show? You can upload your screenshots on imgur.com or Dropbox public folder and post the links here.Best regards,
YigitJanuary 15, 2017 at 11:23 pm #733831Hello Yigit,
Thanks for your reply.
I don’t want to upload a screenshot of my homepage – it is as I described on January 9: in the “general settings” of the child theme you can see the font colours green and grey which I didn’t use and on my entry page (“Home”) the last word of my logo is cut (on the left, above, white font on black background: “Projektmanag” instead of “Projektmanagement”). So it seems that somehow the settings I made in the child theme, probably also quick css, don’t apply after the update of the theme.
Any idea why this happens? A certain wordpress file which might be affected or something like that?
Thanks a lot.
January 16, 2017 at 5:05 am #733866Hi!
We reset the Enfold > General Layout > Dimensions > Maximum Container width option. Please remove browser cache or hard refresh before checking the page.
Cheers!

January 18, 2017 at 10:40 pm #735571Hi,
I noticed that you are using a caching plugin. Would you mind opening your plugin’s settings page and temporarily deactivate the caching of your site? Then please try to clear your browser cache and hard refresh the site (Hold CTRL + SHIFT + RELOAD) to see if that solves the issue.

January 21, 2017 at 6:12 pm #736824Hey!
Can you please disable the cache and let us know so we can also check again?
Thanks a lotBest regards,
BasilisJanuary 23, 2017 at 12:14 am #737045Hi Basilis,
That would be great, thanks. I deactivated, and if you need to deactivate temporarily the other two plugins that are active now, please do (I did so too before I tried the hard refresh)..
But as I said, no plugin was active during the update of the theme.

January 26, 2017 at 5:03 pm #739032Hi,
I still think it’s about a cache issue. Ask your host if they’re using any caching on your server. Try to activate a default WP theme and check if you get similar results or not.
Also there might be some corrupted files, so please delete all theme files completely via FTP, before installing a fresh copy from your themeforest account. Here is a short tutorial on how to install the theme via FTP, in case you are not sure how that works:

AndyJanuary 26, 2017 at 11:40 pm #739156Hi Andy,
after I got the information from my host that they do not cache I checked my dashboard – and first I was shocked because now I had pink headers (you probably tried something out here). Then I was glad to see that I could change the color back again and that the changes were kept in the styling overview this time – but not on my pages themselves. I checked the editing area and found a “color” checkbox where “Standard” was set (I didn’t remember that – a new feature?). I set to “Define custom colors” and now I have the colors I set in the Enfold child settings back again.
Might have been that the Security plugin you deactivated (not only temporarily!!) had also blocked the general styling?
Well, after two weeks of research it seems that my site is fine again, thank you!
Best regards
January 27, 2017 at 8:27 pm #739549Hi,
glad it’s working again for you. Yes, a security plugin could have caused the issue. It’s always best to keep all plugins deactivated while testing. Let us know in a new ticket if you’ve got some more questions about the theme.
Best regards,
Andy -
