Take a look at this page:
http://www.blackbeltacademy.info/specialreport/
If you click the download links on the right, in Safari on my Mac they download fine, but in Chrome the URLs are broken. For example, the correct URL for the first file is:
http://www.BlackBeltAcademy.info/downloads/Ilyokwan-General-Flyer-A5-web.pdf
and that is the URL entered in the builder. In Safari that is the URL it tries to download from and it works ok, but in Chrome or Firefox it resolves to this:
http://www.blackbeltacademy.info/www.BlackBeltAcademy.info/downloads/Ilyokwan-General-Flyer-A5-web.pdf
and results in a 404.This is pretty urgent as I’ve just sent out a massive mailshot which points people to these downloads and it looks like it’s going to fail horrible because of this.
June 24, 2014 at 1:00 am #282766Hmm, it seems that the builder needs me to insert the url as a relative path, not an absolute URL. Not ideal as I may need to link to a file held on another site at some point..
June 24, 2014 at 7:56 am #282847Hey!
Thank you for using the theme!
I checked the website using Chrome Windows 8 and I’m having any trouble with the pdf downloads. Did you fix this somehow?
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 24, 2014 at 11:34 am #282939Hi Ismael,
As mentioned in the second post, I replaced the full path with a relative one and it then works in Chrome,
i.e. I replaced
http://www.BlackBeltAcademy.info/downloads/Ilyokwan-General-Flyer-A5-web.pdf
with /downloads/Ilyokwan-General-Flyer-A5-web.pdfBut that’s not an ideal solution as it’s quite possible I might want to link to a file on another site.
I always assumed that when inserting a url with the ‘manual’ option it required a full path?
June 24, 2014 at 6:43 pm #283183Hey!
I can’t reproduce the issue on my test server. Please make sure that
1) no plugin interferes with your links
2) no custom code or child theme breaks Enfold.
If it still doesn’t work create us an admin account and we’ll check the configuration.
Cheers!
