Hello,
If I update to 4.9 I have a problem.
If I go back to 4.8.9.1 it disappears.
In the footer, I don’t have the Widgets I use.
I use the footer in 3 columns:
Column 1 = Navigation menu with a specific menu
Column 2 = Image and Custom Html
Column 3 = Navigation menu with a specific menu and personalized Html
If I activate 4.9:
I have :
Column 1 = Custom Links
Column 2 = Page Links
Column 3 = Category Links
If I go back to Appearance > Widgets > there are indeed my Widgets but they are therefore not visible on the frontend.
CordiallyFebruary 25, 2022 at 9:23 pm #1342334I have excact the same problem! But strange enough only on 1 Enfold site (I have 5 Enfold sites).
My normal widgets are gone in the footer and I suddenly see these widgets instead:
Column 1 = Interesting Links
Column 2 = Page Links
Column 3 = Category LinksWhen I go to Appearance > Widgets I can see my own created widgets are still there, but just not showing on the front end.
The problem is on this website:
Thanks for your help :)
AlwinFebruary 26, 2022 at 2:24 pm #1342371Hi adapeiweb09,
Are you overriding footer.php or header.php in a child theme? If so, then please try replacing those files with the parent theme version, then add your customisations back in after that. If that is not the problem, then please share FTP and WordPress login details in private.
Best regards,

Please open a new thread and include WordPress admin and FTP login details in private, so that we can have a closer look at your site.

RikardFebruary 27, 2022 at 8:21 pm #1342490Hello Rikard,
I also had a footer.php file in my child theme. After deleting the footer.php from the child theme (which was possible for me because there where no important modifications in there) the footer was back to normal again.
– This is a bug in the latest Enfold update? Because normally it should be possible to have a footer.php file in a child theme without any issues, correct?
– I also have header.php and functions.php files in my child themes. No issues with these files are know, after the latest Enfold update?Thank you for your help :)

February 27, 2022 at 8:39 pm #1342492To have only a copy of footer.php or header.php in the child-theme directory is alway possible. The point is – why are there child-theme versions.
If this involved adapting the theme to your own needs, then unfortunately you have to implement this again in newer versions of the parent theme.
For example, a new feature has been added by implementing the Curtain effect to the footer. This innovation, however, required new code for parent theme files. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to introduce all new features into the theme in a downward compatible way.
______
For example, if you look at my footer on this test page: there I gave the theme a second footer widget row, which I can even set up via the Enfold settings. I always have to think about that when a new version is released.

http://www.themiswealthmanagement.comFebruary 28, 2022 at 12:22 am #1342501Hi,
@samdive thank you for the login, I see that you have an old footer.php & header.php in your child theme, please save these to your computer and remove them from your child theme.
Then your site will work correctly.
I’m not sure what customizations are in your old footer.php & header.php but if you want these customizations in your updated site you can make these customizations in a copy of the new footer.php & header.php from v4.9 and add them to your child theme.Best regards,
