Hi there,
The homepage of my website has different sections with section anchors. From the menu, you can smootly switch between the sections on the homepage and that part works fine.
The menu item ‘Over WOMB project’ has the anchor link #watis
The menu item ‘Resultaten’ has the link #resultaten
The menu item ‘Laatste nieuws’ has the link ‘#nieuws’
The menu item ‘Contact’ leads to a seperate contact page and from the ‘#nieuws’ section I want to make a link to a seperate blog page. The problem I’m facing is that it’s apparently not possible to navigate from a seperate page (like ‘Contact’) to a homepage section. The only way to achieve that is by changing the anchor into a complete link with anchor (e.g. https://www.womb-project.com#watis instead of just #watis). But this leads to ‘jumping’ to the sections rather than smooth scrolling and doesn’t look nice.
Could you please advice me on how I can achieve smooth scrolling to section anchor links and, at the same time, the possibility to navigate from a seperate sub-page back to one of the homepage sections.
Thanks for you reply in advance. Kind regards,
Michiel

Thanks for contacting us!
Please create an additional menu with full links for your inner pages and use this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/zen-menu-logic/ to display that menu on your inner pages :)
Cheers!
YigitDecember 11, 2019 at 11:32 am #1164784Hi Yigit, thanks for your reply and your advice.
When I take a look at this plugin Zen Menu Logic, a warning is stated:
“This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”This doesn’t look to me like a solid, reliable, future-proof solution… Or am I wrong here?
Best regards,
MichielDecember 11, 2019 at 2:47 pm #1164827Hi,
It still works fine. I believe plugin authors are not updating their plugin as long as there is no compatibility issue with the latest WordPress versions so please feel free to use it :)
Best regards,
YigitDecember 12, 2019 at 12:11 am #1165020OK, it works, at least for now :)
Thanks very much.
